Tell me how much sense this makes

OK....I just spent an hour on the phone with this guy (he's a friend, although he'd like to be more) telling me that I'm dating a black guy because all the guys that I've dated in the past and that have hurt me have been white guys and so when I look at white guys I get a bad feeling about them. He also says that I seem to be in a string of codependent relationships (Roger being an exception) and that maybe it's because of the kind of guy I fall for. Does any of that make any sense at all?

I see what they guy is trying to say. I don't agree with it. But I think you're the only one that can answer that.

It makes some sense, except the analysis of why I'm dating a black guy is weird (IMO.)

It drives me crazy when people analyze inter-racial dating. I think people are people and if you like them, then that's all that matters. Who cares what he's saying. It's obviously jealousy on his part and comments like that aren't going to make you gain interest in him. IMHO It sounds like his jealousy is getting to him and he's grasping for straws trying anything he can to get you. If he makes you question yourself, and you drop your current bf because of that then he's won.

Let me guess -- guy is white? Who cares what your reasons for dating anyone are? He sounds like he is just trying any excuse to try to get you to out with him, IMO.

Okay....That's what I thought, too I don't get it though....Before I was married (when I was a teenager), I had a hard time finding a guy to date. Now that I'm all grown up and on my own, I seem to be tripping over guys.

DocRafiki, he doesn't and that's why it didn't bother me TOO much. I think he's just very jealous.
