Tell me fun things to do in Santa Monica....

It's been years since I've been there. Friends are coming from MN and are staying in Santa Monica. Was wondering what are "must sees". Thought about taking them to Hollywood, too, but it depends.

Pier's always good. There's also the 3rd Street Promenade for outdoor shopping, and if the weather's good there'll probably be performers in the street.
