I am also afraid of heights. I went on Soarin with my family and loved it, but didn't go on the second time.
I felt at times as if I was going to fall even though I knew it wouldnt' happen. It was a great scary feeling all in one at some times during the ride and I am sooo glad that I went on it.
However, if I was a 7 year old, I dont' think I would be able to tell myslef that I am safe and truly enjoy the ride.
I did at times close my eyes. So perhaps if you do decide to have your 7 year old go on it, you should make sure you sit next to him, so that you can tell him to close his eyes in case he gets scared during the ride. You will be able to lean forward and see your son, something that my kids loved doing , to scare me even more!
I was in the front row, so maybe this is why I felt that we went REALLY high off of the ground.
and this is something my 12 year old daughter is looking forward to doing.
The Drive down I-75 near Brooksville is quite hilly. Nothing like California, no Mountains, but, not flat for sure. There is also the Keys, A1A, the Space Coast, Jacksonville, the Swamps of the Okeefenokee, the bluffs of the Swannee River and the uplands in the panhandle. Tampa Bay is huge and best enjoyed from above.
