Two couples, just made ressies for POFQ last night for 12/11-17, and we are all so excited. (We even cracked up the CM last night while making ressies because we had made a party of it with drinks, food, etc.)

I'm the unofficial tour guide for the trip, and I suggested POFQ since we had received the discount email for $79 a night. We had previously thought we'd go to an All-Stars resort, but this deal allowed us to upgrade. I also suggested POFQ over Coronado since I wasn't sure if there would be a convention during this time, and I'd heard that the Caribbean was not in the best location. Anyway, I want to make sure I have all the info on the resort to justify our choice.

1. Does anyone have a link to a resort map? (didn't immediately find one while searching).

2. When we booked last night and were given the option or POR or POFQ, I asked for the one closest to the launch for DTD- is this correct? Where does the launch disembark? PI? Multiple locations?

3. We asked for adjoining rooms, and they told us they couldn't make sure this would happen, but would make a note on our ressie. Any tips for reminders to the resort that will make this more certain?

4. It seems like one of the smaller moderates (our only reference is Coronado, however), but does anyone have recs for sections? Or should we not specify a section if we are wanting adjoining rooms?

5. Whose rented bikes or boats? The bikes sound fun, especially if the trails are linked to POR.

Sorry for all the questions...I'm a bit of an organizational geek, and this will be a new resort for us. Thanks in advance!

1. I don't have a link, but I do have a map & can try to scan it to you. I want to say that Deb Wills site has one, try this:
http://www.allearsnet.com/

2. Yes that is correct POFQ is closer. There is only 1 boat dock there & it is very easy to get to. It will take you to DTD as well as Westside.

3. As far as getting your requests, they try their best to do it. Most of the time it can be done. I would call them again as well as call the resort directly a few days prior to check in.

4. I want to say this is the smallest resort on property. The less requests you make, the better chance you have of getting your adjoining rooms. No matter what the location is, you will be a very short walk to everything since it is so small.

5. Both POFQ & POR have the bike rentals, the path is the same, you start at one & circle all the way around...nice trail too. As far as the boat rental, I was just there this past June & I don't remember seeing them at POFQ anymore. Both resorts had them, but I think in the cut backs, only POR has them now...I am not too sure on this. You can find this info out on either this site or Deb Wills site also.

Don't worry about so many questions... that is half the fun of planing... have a great time.

samething here as well.. just deleting message... sorry.. I have no clue what happened I only posted once

I just got back last week. This was our forst stay at POFQ and we loved it. We will definitely be staying here in the future. The resort is the smallest on Disney property. Everything is close. All buildings are easy to get to from the store and food court. The pool is the best to me. The landscaping is very nice and the whole place is quiet and calm. The pool has a bar at one end that is convenient to get drinks and beer as well as nachos and cheese. They do not rent boats. You have to walk to Riverside for that. The walk is not far. There is no restaurant. You have to go to POR or DTD or another park to get a restaurant choice. Boatwrights is at POR and the food is very good. Downtown Dis is a boat ride away. There dock is just outside the pool fence. The boat comes to POFQ first but lets off passengers. It then goes to POR picks people up and returns to POFQ where you will be allowed to board. It let's off first at POFQ on the return trip. It is a very nice ride to DTD but the bus may even be a faster mode of transport. To me speed is not the point here. Take the boat. You will enjoy the ride. There are docks at East side DTD and West side DTD. Both are not always running. They usually run both docks there after 7pm. The first stop is the east dock right at Rainforest Cafe. This is the only dock open in the day time prior to 7pm if I remember correctly. We stayed in building 3 on the first floor. All buildings are close and there is no bad choice here. As far as getting connecting rooms they will do their best. I usually have luck with Disney here. It may come down to how long you want to wait to get your room when you check in. They may not have connecting available at the time you arrive and you may opt to wait and see if that comes available later in the day. Do not specify any particular building or requests if you wnat the best chance at connecting rooms. The only thing I would worry about is smoking preference. There is no bad location or building.

Dawgfan and Mickeyfan-

Thanks for all the info. Based on this, I think we made the right choice. Coronado seemed really big to me, so nice that this one is smaller. And quiet is great! Our days of arrival and departure will be non-park days, so it's nice that the property had so many activities.

Dawgfan- did you ever find that the boat filled up on the POR side and didn't return to POFQ? Even though the bus may be faster, I think we'll take the boat just for fun.

Didn't find a map on Deb's site...but I'll keep searching.

Both POR and POFQ have launches to DTD. At POFQ, Bldg. 2 is probably the closest to the boat launch. Do you want connecting rooms or adjoining rooms. They tell me that adjoining are next to each other but do not connect.

The boat never filled up on the way back from POR to POFQ to a capacity that would have left us without a seat. Our first day was a non park day and w spent it around the pool and then headed off to DTD. The parks were crowded so I assume that the boat loads we saw were average. You should have no problem I would think.
