I just called CRO to make last minute reservations to ASsp for Thanksgiving and lucked up having a code for a discount at POFQ. We have never stayed here before because the kids LOVE ASsp. I am thrilled but I think the kids will be disappointed. What can I tell them to get them excited? By the way, we have never been around a holiday either. I know it will be crowded, but what can we expect?
Take a look at our itinerary

Wed (24): sleep all day, drive all night
Thur (25): check into RPH, go to US & IOA with FOTL passes
Fri (26): check out of RPH, go back to US & IOA w/ FOTL, check into
POFQ around 5 or 6 pm, PS at O'hana's at 9:40 pm
Sat (27): Park hop until close
Sun (28): Park hop until 6pm, attend MVMCP till midnight!
Mon (29): sleep in until checkout time, drive home

Does this sound okay? How late can you wait to check into resort?
Thanks for any answers!!

When I called to make a reservation, the CRO told me that I had been sent a code through the mail. Either I did not recieve it or I didn't see it when it came. Regardless, it was under my name when I called so I was allowed to use it. Hope that makes sense.

PS Are you planning a trip in the future? If you are check out http://www.mousesavers.com and look to see if there are any public codes available for you to use during your stay.

POFQ is our family's favorite resort. We have stayed at moderates thru deluxes. POFQ has many great things:

1. Size. The resort is compact so nothing is that far away. The pool and main area are all centrally located and less than a 5 minute walk from any building.

2. There is one bus stop. The bus stop is outside the main entrance. The route is shared with POR, but FQ is picked up and dropped off first.

3. Food Court and Pool are never really crowded. They are a good size for the resort and never feels over crowded. A few other resorts that I stayed at felt really crowded, but there aren't as many guest rooms at FQ. Even at breakfast, we've always had minimal waits.

The down side is that there is no sit down restaurant anymore. Years ago there was Bonfamille's, but that was closed. Now you have to walk to Riverside for a sit down. Boatwright's is worth the short walk, tho.

We have satyed at the Polynesian a number of times and I admit I love the monorail, but for the price at FQ and the ease of the food court, we love FQ. Our kids are 2 & 5 and the food court is just easier for us.

You made a great choice! Have fun.

Quite honestly, from your schedule, I don't think it will matter where you stay. It sounds like you'll barely be in the room to get 40 winks and shower.

You didn't mention how old your kids are, but my older teenagers like All-Star Sports better than POFQ. Not enough teenagers hanging around POFQ. Better arcade at All-Stars.

However, from your hectic schedule, POFQ sounds like a great choice! They have this WONDERFUL hot tub to soak those aching muscles in for a few minutes.

The pool bar is lots of fun for the grownups. However, it does close fairly early.

The decor really makes POFQ for me! I totally feel like I'm on vacation. Walking into that lobby with the glass ceiling and fountain for the the first time will just blow you away!
