Tell me all about jetblue?

As a previous southwest only flyer, I came across some great deals with JB..

How similar are they? What happens if I need to change a flight or the price goes down, is it anything like sw policy? what about seat selection and boarding, what has been ur experience?

As for price changes, JetBlue has a similar credit policy to SW with a few key differences, first the credit can be used by anyone (SW no longer offers this) and the credit is good one year from date the credit is issued (SW is date ticket was originally purchased).

Seat selection is assigned/selected by the customer (no cattle call) and they offer Extra Leg Room Seats that rival legroom in some Business/First Class seating, however there are still 3 seats across and are the same width. Each seat has a TV with SiriusXM and Direct TV.

JetBlue offers one free checked bag per ticketed passenger compared to SW offering 2 checked bags per ticketed passenger.

I fly both SW and JetBlue. I personally prefer Jet blue. They have assigned seats, better snacks as well as a TV for each seat! It shows major TV networks (ABC, ESPN, Disney, Nick, etc.) There are about 35 channels plus some movie channels as well as XM radio. They charge $2.00 for a set of headphones.

I adore JetBlue. It is my favorite airline by far!

This spring I planned and booked flights for 15 people on JetBlue and one leg of our flight dropped in price shortly after booking. We ended up with nearly $600 in JetBlue credits which are paying for another trip to WDW this fall. They were super helpful and cheerful in getting the price drop credit to us.

On our way home, 4 members of my family had an issue where they were boarded on a flight and then had to get off the plane due to a maintainence issue. Their total delay was less than 2 hours but it was definitely a pain to switch planes. However they returned home to emails from JetBlue with $25 credits for each of them for the delay. I find they offer great customer service.

I was wondering if we need to do anything before the flight - like on-line check in?? And if you don't select your seats, do they select them for you?? I don't need the extra leg room etc, so not sure if they assign you seats or if I still have to go pick my seats.

You should select seats, but there is no requirement to do so. If you don't you will be assigned seats at check-in (or requested to select seats at check-in) which could mean you and your traveling partners will be spread out around the plane.

There is no charge to select seats, unless you select an Extra Legroom Seat, which the cost will be outlined when you select it.

LOVE JB. My only disappointment is when I fly East from SD, we have so much family in the RI and CT area more than MA; so we always fly into GREEN and JB does not go into Green. We will fly JB for many other locations. Love it.

Another JetBlue lover here. They are by far my favorite airline. Seat assignment and one checked bag is included in the cost of the ticket. They have TVs (actually Direct TV) in each of the seats. The have unlimited drinks and snacks available. Although they only give one you are permitted to ask for more. Their customer service is terrific. If the cost of your flight drops you can get a credit (not a refund) without any financial penalty.

How can I select seats??? Do I do that at the time I book it or do I call customer service later. I tried to find there cancelation policy and credit info on line but could not, so thanks for that.

I only need 1 checked luggage and curious about the credits for reduced rates.

When you book your flight you have the option to select seats during the booking process. You can also pull an existing reservation up and choose each flight segment and select your seats.

For credits for price drops, you can do this online (although people have mixed experience doing it) and you can also call. Just make sure you are comparing apples to apples (same flight, same number of seats).

I just booked with JB for Dec. 3-10 from Austin, TX to Mco. $218 for RT ticket. The are 3 of us and I got to pick our seats. I can't wait.

I love JetBlue as well. As was mentioned earlier, you have the DirectTV in the back of the seat infront of you (I used mine to watch the Celtics game and flip back and forth to get scores and highlights of the Bruins game on ESPNnews). The staff is very courteous. And I know it's only a difference of a couple of inches between rows of seats vs. other airlines but really makes a difference.

Plus... If you're like me and love the anticipation of going down to Disney, there is a GPS tracker of the flight down. You can monitor your progress on 1 of the DTV channels.

Also use JB for flights from Newark down to Orlando. I wish their Newark presence was larger for more flights around the US. Definitely my preferred carrier. Usually use Continental for other personal domestic flights when JB not available, and United for work flights.

Got to put in that I am a HUGE Jetblue lover as well. Yes, you can check one bag for free and get an assigned seat for free when you buy the ticket. Extra Legroom seats cost about $20-$50 depending on the length of the flight. Also, you get free unlimited snacks and drinks along with 36 channels of DirectTV, and 100 channels of XM Radio. Also depending on where you fly from, you will either be on the Airbus A320 (Layout is 3-3) or the Embraer E190 (Layout is 2-2). Both jets are like new and comfortable. Staff is also nice. Have a nice flight!

Great to hear all the positive reviews on JetBlue. We will be flying JB for the first time and I am really excited, especially after the horrible experience we had with Airtran during last years trip.

Another huge Jetblue fan here. We're lucky to live about an hour from Dulles so we always use JB for flights to Orlando. I usually can't find anyone cheaper that flies out of the DC area and even if I did I would stick w/ JB. The 1 free checked bag is a major perk but by far my favorite thing is the TV on the way down. Really makes the flight fly by! I also love Southwest but when I have a choice Jetblue always wins out.

Jetblue just released that April flights will be released this Sunday!

just got the email from jetblue . I'm working until 5 on Sun., but I'm thinking most people will be booking the BDL-MCO flights. I'm actually going to be booking BDL-SJU, so hopefully there will still be decent seats left by the time I get home.
