hello,
I will be at DL for the first time this Feb. I would like to know all about the photopass. The cost, any magic shots, etc...
Thanks in advance!

Good guide to photopass.

Cost depends on what you are getting, the basic DL PhotoCD is $59.

Ask any photographer if there is a special pose when you are there. They will take multiple shots and be able to help with this.

we did the Photopass the first visit, they do take EXCELLENT pictures and they make sure they incorporate backgrounds (such as Tower fo Terror, Disnel flags etc).

When we got home my wife logged on and edited every picture and added various borders etc. We purchased the entire CD (i think $149 or so) but we got every picture and then we could pick and choose what to print.

in total I think we ended up with almost 200 pics.

cheers and have fun!!!

Is the $59 a preorder price, or is it always that price? It is so much cheaper than the WDW version.

That is the normal price for DLR, only WDW has preorder pricing.

Also at this time, you can go to the Photo Center on Main Street, purchase the Gallery CD, which is stock character and park photos. Buy it at the high price of $59, I think it's normally about $40, for one with the PhotoCD voucher inside. Then you get home edit your PhotoCD pictures, and order the PhotoCD with the voucher. In effect you got the Gallery CD for free.

This may be the first really REALLY negative review I've given of Disneyland but I think the Photopass is terrible. I've yet to get a good photopass picture that doesn't have our feet cut off in every single picture. Really that is my biggest pet peeve of photography. I got better pics with my phone last visit by handing it to people. I do consider myself a slightly better than average hobby photographer so maybe I'm biased or had bad luck with certain photographers. I've also had 2 really rude Photopass photographers, once towards my family (we were apparently taking too long to finish our personal photos in front of the castle) and then towards another family b/c the photographer wanted them out of our picture.

We have kept trying each visit since they always hand you a card anyway but no luck. I didn't even get our free ones from the Visa Meet and Greet the past 2 trips b/c they were that bad.

Is this a new thing skiingfast or has this been an option for a while? I ask because we're going in August and I hope it will still be available at that time.

It's been going for months, but it's hard to say when it will end.

Hope it sticks around.

So you need to buy the gallery CD to be able to add the borders to the photos on your photopass?

Oh no.

PhotoPass CD = Pictures of your group in the parks.
Gallery CD = Stock photos from the parks.

The special offer is to buy the Gallery CD in the parks that has a voucher for your PhotoPass CD included, at the PhotoPass CD price($59). Then when you get home, you go online see the pictures taken of your group, edit them, and order with that voucher.

Normally you can buy your PhotoPassCD in the park and take it home with you($59). Or you wait until you get home view and edit the photos and order for ($59).

I'll be there next week and would also be interested in this. Is there a time limit to when you can go online and order the CD? Also, will they post it international (I'm an Aussie!).

They do ship them internationally. Not sure what the shipping cost would be.

When you view your photos online you have 30 days to order products. This time goes quick as youe decompress from traveling. You can pay for time extensions.

Hello fellow Aussie! We did the photopass on our trip, took the cards home and did the borders etc and sent off for our CD. It took approx 2-3 weeks from memory for us to receive it but yes, they do do international shipping. I cannot remember what the shipping price was (if it was more or not) as I didn't process it (my Dad did ;) )

Have fun!
