tell me about your view at akl.......

we have booked a savannah view and i'm trying to decide where i should request our room to be. i'm thinking arusha savannah, with a room about half way out zebra trail. what floor should i request for optimal animal viewing?? also, can i add my requests to my reservation or just fax them 4 days out?? i'm so excited to have a savannah view that i'll be happy with just about anything, but i figured it doesn't hurt to ask nicely!!! thanks for your input!

We stayed right were you are thinking, 2nd floor. I want to say the 2501-2515 section. We were close to everything and had a view of the watering hole and woke up every morning to all 3 giraffes, it was awesome!!!

Yes, the Arusha savannah is the inner circle one, you might say. It is the big one you see when you walk outside the lobby. The building horseshoes around it.

We were on the 5th floor on the Arusha savannah, Zebra trail and loved this location. Our room was just were the building begins to turn, so we had a wonderful view of the whole savannah. Furthur out may be nice too, but we liked being close to the elevator.

I always but my requests on the resevation. Alot of people say not to fax to the resorts any more, but then a few say it is ok .. so .. who knows?

We have only one time been assigned a view that was not to our liking. It was on the 2nd floor at the very, very end of Zebra trail. We asked to be moved and were reassigned very promptly without incident. For some reason we prefer Kudu Trail and I am not sure why. Our personal favorite savannah is the Sunset Savannah.

I would make any requests at the time of the reservation, or call to add them. I believe what people are posting about the faxes becoming overwhelming.

We requested to be in either the Kudu or Zebra Trail looking into the Arusha Savanna, third building from the end on the fourth floor. This is where we wound up (on the Kudu Trail) and it was perfect. We were in the middle of the trail looking across the Arusha savanna and was high enough up to appreciate the whole savanna, but low enough to get good views of the animals.

As I'm sure you know all three savannas have giraffes, but only the Arusha has zebras. The CMs told us the zebras don't get along with some of the cattle and so must be kept seperated.
