My dad wants one for X-mas since they have a toaster oven and he hates it.
They all look the same to me so if you could tell me what kind you have and if you like it, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks! :cool1:

I got rid of my toaster when I bought my toaster oven. I think mine's just a basic Black & Decker, stainless steel. I like it.

Just recently purchased the Cuisinart toaster (4 slice) chrome. It has a retro look to it and also comes in 2 slice. DH who is a toast fiend had to have it along with the toaster oven. He loves it because it will toast his english muffins on 1 cycle. We bought it at Macy's for about $80 I think the 2 slice was in the $50 range.

It is a Brave Little Toaster. :rotfl2:

Actually, ours is a Wal-Mart toaster, stainless, 2 slice, wide opening, cool touch toaster with a crumb catcher.

Kind of a personal question, no?

Why are you so defensive about your toaster? Do you have a really, really good one that you don't want anyone to know about? :sad2:
Perhaps you don't have a toaster and you don't want to answer the question... :charac2:

;)

:lmao: :lmao: Thanks for the laugh, I needed it. :thumbsup2

Nothing much to tell, pop in some bread and it comes out toasted. :confused3 I don't go for all the bells and whistles, I think the more elaborate an appliance is, the easier they break. Hold on I'll go check the brand............................

Ok it's a Toastmaster wideslot. Great on bagles. :thumbsup2 Now scoot and go get a toaster. :goodvibes

Thank-you. Was that difficult? :confused3 ;)

I really do appreciate all the help from everyone. There are SOOOO many toasters out there and I'd just like one he won't whine about...

I really like my kitchenaid 4 slice toaster.

It has a bagel setting, so that the inside of the bagels toast, without the outsides, getting too rubbery, and overdone.

It has a frozen feature, for frozen toaster pastries, that defrosts them first, and then toasts them, so the insides don't come out still frozen.

And a warming button, to rewarm, the toast if needed.

several good colors, about $65.00 or so if I remember right.

I've had two Mickey toasters, they didn't last very long. They're fun but I wouldn't recommend them. I bought an inexpensive Oster Toaster (it has 3 blue lights on the front) toast, frozen, and pastry. It has been working fine.

I've never spent more than $30 on a toaster. Just look for one that has a cancel feature (to pop it up early in case you see it getting too dark) and a slide out crumb tray. The really cheap models have a trap door you have to pry open to get the crumbs out. These would make me crazy. I like the crumb tray to slide out like a little drawer.

I have this one:

It is ok but nice for when we are making a lot of toast like when we have BLT's. It toasts pretty evenly. The dial is goofy, the setting you would THINK is darker toast is actually lighter toast but other then that we like it.

We also have this one:

We use this one ALL THE TIME! The kids gave it to DH for Christmas last year and it gets used daily for making toast, does a great job for that, and it gets used several times/week for making egg muffin things. If your dad likes those, it is worth buying. It will also hard boil, soft boil or poach eggs.

We have one of these also and we love it. The DD's have to wait their turn so they can make their egg sandwiches. This is a great unit and you got to try it. We bought ours at FRY'S.

Mine cost about $4 and it makes toast. Bagels are a tight squeeze, though.

I didn't know toasters could be so complicated! ;)

We have one of these too (Back to Basics Egg & Muffin Toaster). It is great! Saves us a ton of money that we used to spend on McDonald's breakfast sandwiches. We just buy bags of muffins and bagels at Sam's Club, keep them in the freezer and take them out a package at a time. We buy the precooked bacon and frozen precooked sausage patties so we have a choice of meat, can use a real egg or some Egg Beaters, a slice of cheese, and voila! A quick hot breakfast and no dirty pans on the stove!
