Tell me about your Straighter....

My daughter wants one for her birthday coming up.

About a cuople of months ago, she borrowed one from her friend to try it out and I didn't see any results whatsoever. What's the point of it? Especially if you have straight hair.

Can you convince me to buy one, what brand do you have.

It helps eliminate the frizz, gives it a more fluid look....

My DD has the chi... very high priced but works good on thick wavy hair...

My hair is thin and wavy...and I like one that Target has for $20..it's black and gold, but forgot the name...

Ceramic ones are the best.

Ok, it's recommended to get like the Walmart version for already mostly straight hair? I'll make a note for the ceramic too.

By the way, how's facebook coming along with you? I remember chiming in your "Facebook plunge" thread.

The one thing I would say is don't get one of the really thin ones, they take forever! Also I personally don't like the ones that add steam, but if your daughter's hair is mainly straight that might not be such a problem. I've always bought the inexpensive ones and never had a problem with them.

Basically they help make the hair look more neat. I've used them since I was 14....so a damn long time, to give you a clue my first one also included a crimping plate I now relax my hair at home because I got sick of the morning of blow drying, straightning then avoiding rain like I was the wicked witch in wizard of oz, but I still use the straightner if my bangs are being weird or I get some random kinks/frizz.
