Tell me about your interactions with these characters

I was thinking of the soon to be discounted characters and it seems that for most people, the most memorable part of their Universal trip is not that they rode the Hulk 50 times or got wet on the rides, but they interacted with a character in a memorable way. So thinking about the characters that will no longer be around, what are your memorable interactions with these characters?

IOA -
Boris & Natasha
Dr. Doom
Green Goblin

USF -
Barney & Betty Rubble
Doc Brown
Men in Black agents

Maybe I can write a note to Universal with your memorable interactions.

but it makes me sad to see them going away. In all honesty, when we went to IOA, we saw Boris and Natasha, but no one would go up to them. (Now I feel bad for not doing so.) What shocks me is that Dr. Doom always had guests around him so I can't see why he would go away. Or the Green Goblin for that reason. But I have to say a "theme park experience" includes interaction with characters. If you take that away, they are just a regular park with rides not a theme park. So my suggestion would be to add more characters, not take away. Boris and Natasha were not my favorites, but I am sure that they were someone elses. Universal should take that into consideration so that they can keep pulling in business from all these different niche markets.

Next trip, I will visit with all characters!!!!

Last year when we where there me and my ds and dd where getting dw to take picture of us with fred and wilma when barney and betty came running up and said wait we want in they laughed and joked with us and took pictures if us and each other we met Boris and Natasha as we where leaving IOA at end of night my dd had her face painted as a unicorn and Natasha kept pulling her pony tail and make comments about little nice girls made her sick but boris kept defending her while stealing my ds hat and hiding it behind his back then they offered to tak a picture and ran off with camera saying too easy they where very funny and we loved them and as for the wild wild west show it was great I had the big cowboy try to pick a fight with me by throwing paper balls at me from behind found this show very funny and entertaining hopefully they will reconsider:jester:

I returned recently from a trip to Universal and IOA. I was traveling with family, including my very active 85 year old aunt. My aunt and I were waiting for the rest of family who were riding the Ripsaw Falls. We had an encounter with Boris and Natasha while trying to get out of the rain. We had a blast. They seemed to be taken with my aunt and they had a lot of fun with her (and me). We were standing there about 20 minutes and it was like a show. My aunt LOVED it. I thought they were very funny! I'm sorry to hear that they are going away. It was a very memorable part of our trip!

Doom - Frequent shouts of "All Hail Doctor Doom", calling him "my Liege", etc.

Green Goblin - Telling him he rules after I saw him cause mischief.

Doc Brown - just a few "hey Doc" sayings

We just returned from a Universal trip and we loved Doc Brown. He chatted with my kids and politely told others that he would be with them in a minute when they tried to walk up while he was talking with my DS 8, and DD 5. I also have a great picture of the three of them giving me a thumbs up, and after I took the picture Doc Brown commented how much he liked my camera - what a guy! I know for my son especially it was "cool" for him to see the real characters as opposed to the costumed ones. I would be very sad to hear of Doc Brown leaving, he certainly was a bright spot on our vacation.

Thank you everyone! I know that so many of us have enjoyed interacting with you as you have with us.

It is very touching to hear how much you will miss us, because we will miss being there and watching folks laugh and smile at the things we do.

As I mentioned in a different post, perhaps Universal will sit up and take notice with everyone saying they do not want these entertainers to go away. But if they don't, thank you for letting us know that we made a difference in your lives.

We went to Universal & IOA last Sept with our 4 yr old son and he just had to see the green goblin, we saw the parade of superheroes and we lost sight of him. After running around like crazy people we finally saw him down a alley and my son ran up to him and he was acting like he was boxing my son. Our son just loved him. We are going back this sept and today I asked my son if he was excited, he said yes, he cant wait to see the green goblin. I had to tell him that he would not be there anymore and he lost his mind!! Cried for 20 mins. and said he didnt want to go anymore. Hopefully, we will get lucky and he will still be there!! I hope, if not its gonna be a looooong trip!!

I hope so too connab. :(

I, myself, never had an encounter with any of those characters when I went to US/IOA (and I have been many times). I've seen them around but never stopped to talk with them or anything. Though I do remember the Green Goblin said something to the nature of "I hate Spiderman!!" And my cousin's daughter who was 7 at the time was like "Why? I like Spiderman..." And I think he was a little taken aback but got in character and saying he didn't like Spidey and all. I don't remember the conversation that well, but it was cute.

I remember meeting the Green Goblin with Robinrs' DS, Michael. Michael said something to the Green Goblin and he chased Michael all around Marvel Super Hero Island. Robin had to restrain Michael from causing any more trouble. I happened to got it on video too! Whenever I think of meeting Robin and Michael, I think about him being chased by the Green Goblin! :)

During our visit last dec/jan, were getting on the elevator part of MIB when the doors open and the agents came rushing in looking for the alien dressed up like a "Tourist", next thing I know I have a guy hanging on my arm saying "I'm with her, I'm with her".(I don't know how I missed him, he was so obnoxiously dressed with a bright flowered shirt and big camera hanging around his neck.) I never even knew he had snuck up behind me and was standing there the whole time. Well anyway the agents took him away, and everyone around me was laughing, the crowd really seemed to like the interaction of the agents.

It is too bad they want cut back with these characters and it will be sad to see them go. I have kids(12 & 13) that enjoy these "older characters" they do not care to see the rugrats or spongebob. Don't get me wrong, I know there are many families that look forward to those new characters, and they are just as important. But with the ages in our family, we seem to relate better with the "oldies, but goodies."

When we were at USF Doc was "statuelike" when 2 teens walked up. When he came to life, boy did they scream. My boys loved that! Then they went up to talk to him and get a photo taken. A nice part of their day.

At IOA Natasha and Boris were walking around, but we didn't stop them as my boys were off and running to the next ride. I think they didn't really notice who they were, but I thought these characters were an adorable part of the theme of this area.
