I have one I received a while back. FOOD SAVER I think....not sure of the brand.
I use it mainly for marinating meat. I purchased some additonal large canisters that steaks, chicken or fish can fit into. The vacuum causes the meat to 'open' up more and allow the marinate to sink in better. And because it's vacuum sealed I can leave the meat out to reach room temperature before cooking (makes the meat more tender)
