After spending over 6 months planning which restaurants to eat at in WDW, I feel that with 3 months to go until we go to DLRP, and with no resturants booked, I need to do some planning ;)

What restaurants would you recommend? Any particular ones to avoid?

Cheers :)

We haven't been to the fancy ones but we truelly thought Billy Bobs was really nice and they had a show on too when we were there.

I would recommend Annette's Diner. My BIL who is not a fan of Disney parks ate there & said it was the best burger he had ever eaten:thumbsup2 My dad loves Toad Hall in the park

http://www.dlpfoodguide.com/ This site has all the restaurants on it. It is not up to date but gives you an idea of choice & cost:goodvibes

Just a word of advice if you are ordering steak or burger which are ground beef (usually table service not fast food) be sure to ask for it well done if you don't like your meat pink.

Ahhh.... Now this is my kind of thread! (I'm the resident foodie/restaurant obsessive on this board!)

I've loved all the restaurants we've eaten in in DLRP, except for Planet Hollywood. We thought it was overpriced, rubbish quality, and too jammed in... Not impressed at all and wouldn't return....

However, we have loved:

The California Grill- WOW! Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere. However, very expensive. But also worth it! Can't wait to go back!

The Blue Lagoon- I know a lot of people have had bad experiences here, but we really liked it! Lovely food, plus eating inside a ride!

Annettes- Possibly the cheapest table service option. Lovely fast food, amazing milkshakes and a fair price. However, portion sizes have been diminishing recently!

The Chicago Steakhouse- Really nice.... Fab food, wonderful menu choice.... However, service was v.v.vslow at peak time.

The Rainforest Cafe- A bit expensive, but we love the theming here! Wow wow wow! Also good food.

Cafe Mickey- Great fun, character dining, lovely food. Would return time and time again!

Hope that helps! Also, the restaurant reviews sticky near the top of the board contains review threads (some with pics) that might help in making your choice..... :thumbsup2

I can't agree more with what's been said here.

Inside the park my Fav is Casey's Hotdogs (used to be the only place in the park to get a hotdog but found on our October trip that most do now :confused3 ) and also the Bake Shop (I think) does amazing Croque Monsieurs too...soo nice.

i would definately reccommend cafe mickey and annettes.

for a fast food option we loved toad hall in fantasyland.

we hated cafe hyperion. its where you can see the lion king show kwim?? you queue to order and pay, then wait for someone else to get your food and then your burgers come plain and you have to go elsewhere to get lettuce, sauce etc. my food was so cold by the time i sat down.

my dd loved the food in caseys. i even bought her a kids meal in annettes and she wouldnt touch the chicken nuggets?? but loved the ones in caseys

In all my trips to DLRP I have never, ever eaten here!

That can be one to do this weekend! I think it looks nice, but bearing in mind I live near the sea and have two of the best fish and chip shops ever on my doorstep, I always go elsewhere!

we went in during the mnsshp for like ten euros we got fish and chips with soup and a drink. it would definately fill a gap for lunch. and the chips arent the skinny ones you get everywhere else

although i couldnt find vinegar which i thought was a bit weird

We always manage a visit to the Lucky Nugget Character Buffet, we love it there and will be returning again next time.
OH always goes on about the Plaza Gardens buffet we did once, he really enjoyed that.
We enjoyed the meal at Planet Hollywood, although there was far too much on the plates, but I didn't like the photographer coming around and probably wouldn't go back there for that reason.

With the exception of LN I try to eat in different restaurants each visit and I've still got a long way to go to get around them all. :rotfl:

Should've said my best meal ever was at the Blue Lagoon, hoping to return there again next time too.

Its hard to impress me with fish and chips (I come from a fishing town in Scotland) and I would definitely recommend the fish and chips meal from Toad Hall - lovely crisp batter, beautiful white fish, chunky chips, large cup of tomato soup and croutons, all piping hot, plus a soft drink, for around 11 euros. And its big enough for me and my DD to share :goodvibes

Why hasn't anyone said Walts yet??

My favourtie by far! Great atmosphere, location and wonderful food!! :)

Also loved Cafe Mickey!!! :)

Thanks for all the tips

I've always looked at Blue Lagoon and thought it looked lovely.

We got engaged at the California Grill in WDW in September :) so would love to go to the French one. Does seem pretty expensive though and with the crappy £ right now.....

I remember getting a 'magic' burger last time I was there, from Pinocchio's Chalet, and it was amazing, one of the nicest burgers I've ever had. Can't remember why i liked it so much though!

The California Grill in WDW and the Paris one are meant to be nothing like each other.... Just thought I'd tell you!

I would sugest:

Walts
Cafe Mickey
The California Grill
The Chicago Steakhouse
The Blue Lagoon

Out of all the places we ate, Toad Hall was the nicest Counter Service by far and cheap for 2 pieces of Cod and chips was 7.75 I think...

We loved Cafe Mickey although next time will go when the characters are there.

Rainforest Cafe was tasty but we had a bad table which kinda ruined it for us.

Annettes was great and they did 2 dances while we were there. I got the mini favourites was a regular size burger, a burrito and a hot dog with chips, was georgous.

The worst place we ate was The Sports Bar. DBF wanted to watch Man Utd match and everywhere else was full. We had hot-dog's, the chips were cold and the buns were stale.

Beware of the drinks in New York Style Sandwiches, they charge €3.75 for a bottle of Coke. I got the seats and DBf ordered and got 2 bottles!! They give you plastic cups though so one bottle was plenty. We saved the other for later :rotfl:

My favorite was Mr. Toads, it is so cute inside and the food was yummy. The portions or very big. Also loved Cafe Mickey the whole experience there was great, except for the slow waiter. Have fun!
