Tell me about your experience with Alamo or Budget

It's been a while since we've rented a car at MCO...since October of 2007. At that time we used Budget, and I remember the line being particularly slow.

We are are travelling in May with our DS (will be 4) and DS (will be 22 months) and looking for a good deal, clean car and efficient pick-up. Which company would you recommend?

FWIW, the prices I'm finding using my Costco discount are nearly even. With that discount, would I be able to use the Alamo kiosk if I go that route?

We used Alamo and liked how we were treated and loved the car so much that they gave us we contemplated buying one for ourselves. No issues with them here.

I used to always use Alamo & loved them. You can do online check in and walk right out to your car. No counter waiting at all. That being said for the past year (3 trips) I have ended up using Dollar. Alamo was at least $100 or more expensive than dollar for the same class of car. Dollar was almost as easy, I got their free express membership and you wait on a MUCH shorter line (there is usually no one on that line). Both companies are located in the garage right in MCO, so you just walk across the street/walkway. We always rent an SUV, but I think the savings were across the board. I would recommend both.

I've used Alamo more than anyone else due to the prices and deals..

Alamo is great there. I've also used it one way, pick up at the airport then returned to the Dolphin. It was so easy, and I had gotten a great rate, and had the car for just one day.

You can still use the Alamo kiosk with the Costco discount. Heck, when we went in January 09, they didn't even CHECK for my card! (They did in July 08, though...but there was a gentleman from Alamo helping us check in at the kiosk, he just kind of walked between them helping out..had he not been there, I don't think we would have had to show the card then either.)

we always use budget (just rented a dodge journey for 160.00 for 8 days) but they are not good with cust service...I guess thats what give up with the great prices.I have never paid over 200.00 for week rentals, even mini vans there.

We used Budget in Oct. and they were the cheapest. The lines were slow and when we got to the counter we figured it out. They ask you over and over for optional upgrades etc. We had prepaid online and just kept saying No. No. No, thank you.
