Tell me about your experience at Chefs de France...

We've had dinner here twice and lunch 3 times and prefer lunch to dinner. My favorite thing on the menu is the goat cheese flatbread.

I went there in December and was never seated. It was a complete fiasco--they were calling the wrong name and party size. By the time I figured out what was going on, I had been waiting well past 45 min past my ADR time. I was offered to be seated within 15 min when I called it to their attention. I refused. It was not my fault they had it wrong and there were empty tables everywhere. I should have been seated then. I was already late for a Tour Guide Mike meet (that I never made it to). I made a complaint to Disney and the restaurant contacted me later (actually last month) and never even apologized for the mix-up. The woman who contacted me told me I should have spelled my name for them (I did).

Needless to say, I will never even contemplate Les Chefs de France again. They should have apologized--that's all I wanted.

We have been there a few times for dinner. Luckily we have not had the service issues some here have reported. The prixe fixe menu is on the dining plan. I have had the salmon, which I really enjoyed. The lobster bisque is also very good.

It is the one restaurant that dh always asks for so we went for lunch. We were not on the dining plan but others say the price fixe is okay on the plan. We each ordered the lunch price fixe and everything was quite tasty.

Please note that REMY is ABSENT on SUNDAYS!!!! I was bummed about that.

We've always had good service and delicious food. The escargot is my favorite! Their Filet de boeuf grille is very good too.

We have had all great meals here. I LOVE the French Onion Soup and the Profiteroles! We prefer lunch over dinner.

I've never been, BUT, my BFF went three weeks ago during her first ever WDW trip. They loved Chefs de France. Not as much as Le Cellier, but close. She commented on how large the portions were. They loved seeing Remy. Her two boys, ages 9 and 7, also enjoyed their food.

I would go somewhere else.
The service was poor and I speak French so it can't be attributed to a language barrier.
The food...well that was like a boxed frozen dinner. But a lot more expensive. Blech.

If you want outstanding food in the same price range, I would recommend Sanaa. If you're looking for an Epcot restaurant, I would try Le Cellier, Coral Reef, or Marrakesh.

We had a nice meal there last May. It wasn't the best meal of our trip, but have nothing bad to say about the place.

We had dinner at Chefs de France last August. It was our first time eating there, and we were on the DDP. We chose it because the menu sounded good, and we wanted to see Remy. At the time, it was my understanding that Remy appeared 20 minutes past every hour, with 5:20 being his last performance for the day. I don’t know if that has changed; he was supposed to be gone the week after we were there, but I believe he is still there.

We were a group of three adults and one child. Since that child (my son) is not known for his huge appetite, we ordered him an onion soup and paid OOP for it. French onion soup is one of his favorite dishes at a pub we frequent at home. I ordered the French menu and chose the onion soup, short ribs and crème brulee. DH got the filet mignon and profiteroles, and the other adult in our party selected the seafood dish with black pearl rice and a chocolate mousse cake with fresh berries.

All of the food was very good, excellent even, except for the onion soup. It wasn’t bad, just not as cheesy or flavorful as the one I mentioned from our local pub. My son tasted everyone’s entrees and said my short rib dish was the most delicious. The meat is marinated in wine so that gives it a rich flavor that contrasts nicely with the mild-tasting noodles served with it. The potatoes that came with my husband’s filet were scrumptious, and each of the three desserts was fabulous.

Our server, Sebastian, was a total delight, and on the whole, we really enjoyed this meal. So much, in fact, that we are planning to eat there again this summer. The one criticism I have is that the air-conditioning wasn’t cold enough in the room we were seated in. We were in a side room with many windows and faced a fountain outside. The A/C seemed to be more effective in the main dining room.

We loved it, and my husband and I have both spent a considerable amount of time in France.

Kids loved it too. Atmosphere and food were both excellent.

The food at Le Cellier, we thought, were mediocre at best and we couldn't understand why many people rave about it.

That's the good thing about WDW. cbg liked Le Cellier, we liked Chefs de France- there's something for everyone.

Thanks for all the info everyone! I think we are going to go for it. I would really like to see Remy, but dinner is a better value for DDP than lunch. Is there a way to confirm the info about Remy? We could do a 5pm dinner and still see him that would work. But I don't want to eat quite that early if he isn't going to be there. I know the kids would get a kick out of him.:yay:

It's not a 5 star French restaurant but the food is good and if you're on the DDP that's even better. In my opinion it's not worth the out of pocket prices but then again very few Disney restaurants are. The mac & cheese is very good, the French onion soup also (the French do not overdo cheese as we do in this country) and the creme brulee is heavenly! I think you will enjoy it!

We have dined at Chefs many times over the last decade. We have dined at Chefs for lunch and dinner. Not all TS restaurants have remained on our list over the last ten years, buts Chefs is one that remains on the list. We prefer lunch as it was more relaxing. Dinner is busy and crowded, while lunch is calm and crowds are moderate-less hectic than dinner.

We are going to have lunch there next month for the first time and I can't wait! We are paying OOP and I think we are going to nibble basically. Some soup for sure and dessert!

I guess I wrote that in a confusing way. I did NOT mean the food at Le Cellier is outstanding!

Sanaa was outstanding.

Le Cellier, Coral Reef, and Marrakesh were good, but no where near the level of Sanaa. I was just giving suggestions for places in Epcot that were better than Les Chefs.

We loved Les Chefs, and will keep going back. However, we will just do appetizers, soups, and desserts as these were the highlight. Their soups were fantastic.

Wasn't crazy about it. Service was slow, though I think that is the French way. Food was so-so- prob one of our least favorite restaurants the whole trip. And yes you can get the Prixe on the dining plan
