We may be changing plans this summer. We were supposed to be taking a huge family vacation at BCV to celebrate several family birthdays and my parent's 30th anniversary. My dad recently had a heart attack (he's doing very well now) so he and my mom might take a more relaxing vacation this summer. DH has always loved WL but we have never stayed there. I was thinking about WL concierge. I know there have got to be threads about this somewhere, but I couldn't find any on the first 3 or 4 pages. Any reviews or comments?

TIA! :flower1: :flower1:

We stayed there last June for a surprise birthday week with my husband. We had 7 rooms total. The conciegre really made the trip! First of all, if you have kids, letting them leave the room to get some food and come back was awesome. And even for us grown-ups, having a snack at the ready most times of the day makes it more relaxing. There is wine and dessert there too in the evening - the desserts are to die for! All hot and gooey, just right for a night cap!

The concierge also helped with my surprise. I had made a slideshow for my husband (he was turning 40), and the concierge let us use (at no charge) a conference room on the second floor. After the slideshow, we just hung out in there. It was like a private party.

They also helped with things like tickets and ressies. We loved it and thought it was worth any extra money.

We stayed there in December - me, DD13 and DH. My husband LOVES the WL so I planned the surprise for us stay CL. They were shocked!! The staff is very friendly and the food was good,

The only downside was they never planned one thing for us because they lost my faxed request - I never spoke to anyone but did get through to leave a message on their voice mail. They called back and said they never got the fax but to call back and they would help plan our trip. I attempted to call them SEVERAL times but always got a busy signal and could never leave a message. My emails went unanswered. I'm a planner and at this point - 90 days out - I went ahead a made all my PS reservations.

That part of the trip was disappointing because I have read about how they will assist in the planning. But, it was worth it to see the look on my DH and DD faces when I told them about CL. :jumping4:

Here is my trip report from Christmas

According to most of the CM's at WL CL, thay are getting a new lounge area and construction is scheduled to begin late Jan. or early Feb. This should be an added bonus for WL CL.

cookielulu,

Unfortunately, we have also experienced less than great help from the Itinerary Planning Staff from WL. They could use some CM's in the IPO office like the ones from the YC/BC/BWI IPO office. It should be noted that they are different CM's than the ones who actually work at WL CL.

Hope this helps.

Our trip vacation at the WL starts in a couple weeks. I was thinking about trying to uprade to the CL. I am not quite sure yet. I just don't feel like listening to my husband if he feels it's not worth the extra money. I would be more apt to go for it if they did have a lounge. It looks like it is set up in a narrow hallway. Please explain the set up to me. Are the guest rooms any nicer or quieter? Help me decide if I should give it a shot. I have my ps plans all planned. My husband is a huge snacker and we are not big breakfast people. I figured it would be nice to grab a quick lite breakfast and that it would save us some time and aggrivation in the morning. I have a 3 and 5 year old children and they are slow movers. My husband is also extremely slow and I am a commando type vacationer. This is how the conflict starts.

The lounge area is really not in a narrow hallway. It overlooks the lobby of the resort and tables and chairs are set up also overlooking the lobby.

The rooms on CL are the same size as the other rooms at WL. You do get robes and turndown service at night.

They offer continental breakfast, snacks, wine and cheese (which usually has one hot soup and an entree along with other things) desserts and cordials in the evening.
