Tell me about WCC....

We've never been ones to hop to other resorts for meals...we usually eat in whichever park we're in that day, but I'm intrigued by WCC.

My 2 DD's are 15 and 20...will this be a fun place for them, or is it mostly geared towards younger kids...pony races, etc.

And the food....how is it??

I told them it was my 15 year old's birthday (it actually was a few days off) and that they could embarass her any way they wanted. They did the hair of the girl next to us to look like the statue of liberty. When they did the pony race, they put the certificates on our table. Then they announced DD's birthday and each kid had to go up to her and wish her a HB to get his/her certificate.

Frankly, we didn't care for the food (we didn't do the skillet). DD didn't like bottomless shake. The atmosphere was the big point of the whole place! So....if your teens are willing to "play," they will have fun.

50s Prime TIme might be better--they seemed to involve anyone who wanted to play there. Course, we were seated by a family with a girl who thought my teen was wonderful. They talked and stuff thru quite a bit of the meal which allowed the parents to deal with another child who was acting out.

I too was intrigued by what I had read on here. However, we didnt care for it either. My girls were 9 and 12 when we went. I thought the prices were way high and we didnt really care for the choices. We werent into the skillets either.

We liked it a lot, so much so that we ate there twice last time (we were staying at WL, so it was also convenient) and are returning on our next trip. The food, in our view, was good, among the better meals we had all week. The antics are fun and silly, too, if your kids are willing to be sort of silly. Although they do have special activities for little ones, adults and even teens can play along with the servers. My mom, for instance, had a blast.

We didn't get the skillet, but I loved a fish special (which was not on the regular menu), and DH liked the meat loaf. They give you good corn bread when you sit down too.

WCC is a real uneven place in terms of service and the fun factor. If you've never been, the sheer novelty of the place will likely make it enjoyable enough you won't regret the decision. Most of the games are geared toward the younger kids or parents, but the antics provided by the servers cuts across generational lines. However, you stand a decent chance of getting a server who doesn't enjoy the rowdiness him/herself.

We've been twice for dinner and both times had withdrawn servers. . .who also happened to be mediocre to poor servers. Perhaps there is a correlation? While we enjoyed the shenanigans happening around us, I was deflated that we couldn't draw our server into the fray. And the second trip it was my wife's birthday about which I immediately informed our server upon being greeted. Nothing. As for the food, it's average, along the stylings of cafeteria food--certainly palatable but not memorable. Yes, we tried both a la carte and skillet meals. Still, I recommend going if for no other reason than to experience it yourself and to draw your own conclusions. I just wouldn't head over there with expectations too highly set.

The skillet is good IMO. The atmosphere as others have said can be hit or miss. I find dinner to be more rowdy than lunch or breakfast. But give it a try. We love staying at the WL so eating there is easy. If you go, take time to check out the majesty of the place. It is beautiful, especially after the sun goes down. And listen for the music. It is suttle, from Western films of the past. Enjoy!

We go there every trip. It's a must for us. The food is good and the antics are so much fun. My 20 yo DD really enjoyed it! It's a corny find of fun.

WCC is my 15 yo dd's favorite place to eat at WDW. Even though she's older, the servers always seem to make an effort to tease her. It might be because she goes along with it so willingly.

If your kids don't mind being embarassed a bit, they'll probably love it.

If you are a proud carnivore like myself, you'll love the food. Even the mashed taters is good. BUT DON'T BE DISTRACTED! Get your money's worth with the meat.

I know ya'll are getting tired of hearing this, but I'm gonna absolutely STOMP the skillet when we go in December. I'm starting to fast NOW, so I'll have plenty of room!

My girls both love 50's Prime Time, so I think they'd get into WCC...and if there's even the slightest chance of embarrassing them...well, I'm all over that!!

We leave in 3 weeks, so I may take a long shot chance at getting ADR's.

wcc is the best. its fun for all ages & the food is good. we actually had our rehearsal dinner there in march for its atmosphere & food. they had all kinds of fun antics for us. some of our family got the all you can eat skillet, others the chicken & steak, my aunt raved about the meatloaf & i had the garlic pasta dish (cant remember the name) it was all excellent.

We went a couple weeks ago & didn't find it to be that great. Other than the pony races, there wasn't much going on. It wasn't near as good as what I'd expected, nor as much fun. The food was good, but not spectacular.

Our family thought it was great! We were a group of 9 (DH, BIL, SIL, DS(10), DS(8), DD(5), DNiece(9), DN (8), and I). We had a blast!! The kids thought it was great fun, our server was very interactive with our table as well as the tables around us, he really put on a show. All the kids, except DS(10) did the pony races, they thought that was great!

We will definitely eat here again next Spring when we take the whole family!

We ate there a couple of years ago. The atmosphere is really rowdy and noisy, but we loved it. Very entertaining. Be prepared to be "pestered" through your entire meal, so if that doesn't suit you, you may want to skip over it. However, if you love interaction, this is definitely the place to be.

We weren't too fond of the meal itself. It was ok at best, in our opinions. My dh had a chicken where the flavors did not blend well together at all, but it was tender nonetheless. I had ribs which were incredibly tough and not a lot of meat on them. Neither entree appears to be on the dinner menu anymore. That said, you do get a lot of food for your money. We loved the desserts. I had the banana dustbowl and it was fantastic!!

I don't know if we'd return to be quite honest. While the dessert was great, I'm definitely more into the meal part than I am the dessert. And since we weren't too impressed, I'd rather go elsewhere. But it's possible we caught it on an off night.
