There is availability there, and I have never stayed there. Tell me about it.
I know everyone loves it at Christmas. What about Aug & Sept heat?:lmao:

Any complaints, things to mention?

How easy is it to get the boat over to Grand Floridian or Poly or CR?

We Love the Villas and the Lodge. Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. One of our favourite Resorts. There is Boat Transport to the Contemporary, from there you can take the Monorail to the GF or Poly. Highly recommend a stay but be warned, you may not want to leave

Getting a reservation at the Villas could be a challenge as it is the smallest DVC resort in WDW. Call Member Services as soon as you can and if no reservations are available, ask to be put on the wait list.

The Villas at the Wilderness Lodge is the most relaxing and peaceful of all the DVC resorts. You will enjoy your stay.

It's beautiful and has a similiar "away from it all" feel as Kidani Village. These 2 are my favorite DVC resorts.

its one of our favorite places to stay....the lobby to the main lodge is breath taking and the villas is nice too with the train room etc...little nooks and crannies to sit in, there were table down there the last time we went (in the villas) with some checkers and chess games if i remember correctly.....

Also the pool is nice the villas one is quiet) and the main one is nicely themed with a waterfall that starts in the lobby and the gyser is fun to watch go off every hour...also there is a beach on the villa's side where they show movies at night and also a great place to watch the nightly water parade. You can rent bikes to ride down to Ft wilderness or take the boat over too....

if you are coming back on the boat at night...look at the main lodge from the water and see if you can spot the "bear face" it makes with the lights etc.

VWL is a great resort on the shores of Bay Lake. Not much in terms of views, as most rooms look at trees as befitting the theming of the resort. We've stayed there several times in July/August and it has a nice, somewhat dark decor and is a peaceful oasis from the parks and heat.

No complaints here, but then again I am a VWL Groupie, so you wouldn't expect many negatives from me. :)

Boats to FW & CR are frequent and easy. In addition, I think VWL has the nicest walking/running/bike trails of any of the DVC resorts. Just my biased opinion there.

Enjoy the trip! :)

I love it. I love the themeing. I find it quiet (home for us is Boardwalk, which I think is the noisiest resort - and I LIKE the Boardwalk, but I like the quiet of VWL too. One is busy in the middle of everything, the other is peaceful and removed.). Some people find the decor a little dark - its appealing to me.

They have a great quiet pool with "bubbling springs" on the bottom.

Oh, how I wish it was available for our November/December trip!!! :sad2:

We honeymooned at Wilderness Lodge, and have spent 7 nights there since then, and 1 night in a studio villa (we decided to leave a day early and that's what was available! BLISS! :cloud9:)

If you have never stayed there the only - and I MEAN the only negative about the resort is that the main door to the building is almost all the way at one end of the building, so the hallways can feel a bit long - but that is very very very minor. The hallways at Boardwalk, and AKV - Jambo seem to go on for days!

Stay there! You will love the feeling that you get when you step off the boat at the dock - you will feel like you just escaped all the chaos that is WDW!

It is simply magical - oh how I wish we owned points there!

We have stayed there the last two years in August. It was so quiet and relaxing in the villas. The boat to MK is great and you can hop on the monorail from there. The main pool does get quite busy in the afternoons, but i guess that is probably true of any resort in the summer. We really enjoyed the quiet pool in the evenings. The food court is great. The overall ambiance at WL is just so awesome! I could go on and on!!!

We decided about two weeks ago to go in July this year and only SSR was available. I am excited to try something new, but we will miss our "home".
