I am going to VA Beach the last weekend of April for a big Cheer Comp with my daughters. We are arriving with 2 extra days because of airfare prices. Are there things to do with a 12 and 14 year old if its too cold for the beach? Will it be warm enough to use outdoor pools and beach? Will outdoor pools even be open? Thansk

Water temperatures will still be chilly (probably in the upper 60's) but on a sunny day it'll be warm enough to lie on the beach. By the end of April we're usually wearing shorts here.

Check www.vbfun.com for things to do.

We are going to VA Beach the second week of May. My dad was diagnosed with cancer last May, so now that he's cancer free he was to celebrate at the beach. I just made reservations at Comfort Inn & suites oceanfront. We are so excited!

That's a wonderful reason to celebrate! I wish him continued good health for many years. :) We'll order up some extra good weather here in VB for him.

The water will be really cold! We went in the summer and it was still too cold. It felt good but not for long.
