I flew United recently to DC and was pleased with their service. They have great fares for late Feb. 2016 so booked them for my family (Me, DH and DD who will be almost 4 at the time). Do they have TVs for flights from NY/Newark to MCO? It looks like you have to buy snacks, correct? TIA!

If you check UA's web site or seatguru.com, you can see the entertainment options for your flight; same for food options. In economy, you can purchase snacks.

The entertainment depends on the plane. You could have UA's new service which streams to your personal device (such as an iPad), overhead monitors, or nothing at all.

We fly out of EWR frequently. You have to pay for snacks or bring your own. We pay for the Direct TV
service if available. It has not been free. Don't know if the EWR/MCO route has the new personal device service.

I find UA to be no worse and occasionally rather better than other airlines that I have flown. On the occasions where we have had problems (fog, late planes, etc) their customer service people have got us on our way quickly and without undue drama. This is after probably a couple of dozen flights with them in the last few years.

We fly UA out of Newark often. I have found that the past few years there have been limited or no entertainment options, even on long flights (flew to Hawaii last year with a stop in Denver and there wasn't any entertainment on any of the legs there or back). We all have some sort of tablet so it isn't a big deal, we download movies/books/games and entertain ourselves. Years ago, there were entertainment units in the seats (in front of your face), and it was great, but I haven't had that quite some time.

I totally agree here. I wouldn't fly anywhere without my noise-cancelling headphones and iPad and or Kindle.
