Tell Me about Trader Joes!

Just went in today!!!!:lovestruc Got some veggie corn dogs and whole wheat bread and english muffins. DS was thrilled with the bread!!!!:thumbsup2

I love Trader Joe's. I'd shop there more often, but the place is ALWAYS crowded. I now go maybe once a month early in the morning or offtime in the afternoon to avoid the crowd as much as possible. I'd shop there more often if there was a store closer to my house.

And in my area, Whole Foods is awful, and not just pricewise. I stopped shopping there because I always saw rotting produce, disgusting meat. Last time I was there I walked by the meat counter and it just reeked. I couldn't bring myself to shop from them anymore after that.

Trader Joe's may seem pricier than your regular grocery store but in the grand scheme of things you are paying less to buy the Trader Joe's brand than the actual brand name of the product you would buy at Whole Foods. A family member owns a yogurt company and they supply one of the Trader Joe brand yogurts in certain parts of the country. The brand name is more at Whole foods, same yogurt but different price. The chocolate croissants which here in San Diego cost 5 dollars for four are the same croissants they sell through Neiman Marcus are twenty dollars for the same product. That same Pirate's Booty snack that you find at other stores is also sold under the TJ name. Kinda like paying for a generic product but getting the real deal.

Oh! And they do have a yummy buttermilk pancake mix. Super easy and tastes great.

Earlier this summer we took a trip to San Fransisco and learned about Trader Joes. :thumbsup2

While walking the aisles in awe I saw the manager and asked him if they would ever be opening stores in Texas. (Where we are from) He said they are planning some more stores, and Texas is one of the states they are looking at expanding into. It's only a matter of time I'm sure.

Oh, and I just found out we are getting an In N Out Burger in 2012.

Life is good in Texas. :rotfl2:

Our favorite TJ items are:
frozen Steel Cut oatmeal
frozen cubes of crushed garlic, chopped cilantro and chopped basil
frozen organic brown rice
pretzel bread
whole wheat pizza dough

Cheap beer, cheap wine and cheap cheese are our main draws at TJ's. They sell mango stilton cheese for about 1/4 the price of Whole Foods Market and they have some wonderful aged cheddars for the same low prices.
