My family and I have been on the Eastern once before but we went to St. Maarten, St. Thomas/St. John and CC.

We are now booked on the June 16, 2018 Eastern and it goes to Tortola. We know nothing about this island and would love to hear from others who have gone there with DCL. What excursions did you take or what did you do?

To be honest, it's a small island with little to do. I recommend doing one of the many off-island excursions that are available rather than hanging out on Tortola itself, unless you're a die-hard beach person. We had an off-island excursion to the Baths planned, which was cancelled due to the Fantasy arriving late, so we went on the Island Drive & Beach Break tour instead, which was a fiasco as the drivers of all 3 buses were misinformed as to what excursion it was, but the passengers finally got them on the right track. The beach (Cane Garden Bay) we went to was fine for swimming, clean water & sand, but it was nothing special or extremely beautiful. Chairs & umbrellas for sale cluttered the beach & a dirty restaurant sat next to it. There are some pretty overlook views we saw from the top of the island, but they weren't worth the time we spent on the tour, driving around that sad little island.

We will be on the same cruise....I'm also interested in seeing what others have experienced too. We have been to Martinique that is where I met my husband but none of the others. Thanks for starting this thread DVC Jen! :flower:

We did the half day tour of the Baths. Our shuttle drivers drove us to a picturesque overlook for some pictures, then to the park. It is a short hike down to the beach. We spent about 1 1/2 hours at the first beach, then went through the cave to the next beach. The first beach had huge boulders embedded in the sand--very hard on your feet. The second beach was much nicer. The hike back to the parking lot is lined with cacti. You will not be allowed to wear flip flops. I highly recommend water shoes, the poor boy in front of us going barefoot got cactus needles in his feet. :(You can do a full day excursion, but it was sold out when I booked. I found the half-day to be perfect, as we went back to the ship, ordered room service, and then got ready for Pirate Night.

Some pics!

First beach. I do not recommend entering the water this way! IMG_0622.JPG IMG_0623.JPG

We took the half day boat trip to Jost Van Dyke. It's about 45 minutes by boat from the pier to the island beach. Nice beach but there's no much there other than the beach. We got back in time to eat lunch aboard then shopped at the new port facility. A rather relaxing day overall.

We went to Cane Garden Bay and then walked around the shops and had a great day. Our second time there we did the dolphin experience and did not think it was worth it at all.
