I see so many people with them on, they don't really appeal to me, but I'm considering getting a pair for my 2 1/2 year old GS to wear in Disney next Month. Tell me- Do their feet sweat in them? Are they good in the heat, because it seems like they would be very warm because of the plastic. Are the clog type (w/back strap) or more shoe type better for toddlers? Advice please.

My DGS who is 2 1/2 has them and loves them. When we first got them for him, he would not take them off his feet (he even slept with them on the first night). They do not make your feet sweat. His are the clog type with the strap around the back. I have a pair as well and just love them. If your feet get wet they dry real quick. I plan on taking ours with us when we go to WDW in August.

We are leaving in 2 days and these are the only shoes we're taking. We all have 2 pairs- one Cayman and one Athens. The kids will wear the Caymans into the parks I'll wear the Athens. I live, live, live in the Athens all summer and walk great distances in them w/o a problem. The kids feet do not get sweaty and the are super-easy to clean. Plus, my kids feel hot in socks/sneakers in the summer and crocs are a cool solution.

I'm not a fan of the classic croc style shoes. I refuse to ever buy them for myself, despite how comfortable people say they are. However i like some of the new styles like the flip flops and the maryjanes. I do think that little kids look cute in them though, my son and dd both have them. Their feet do NOT sweat or slide in them and they both LOVE them. I will be bringing their crocs and letting them buy disney jibitz while at disney.

I have never found them attractive at all, however after reading about them on the boards, I broke down and bought some. I have the Mary Jane style and love them! I wore these and Reef flip flops on our trip to WDW in March and did not have any problems with my feet. DH wore sneakers and socks and had blisters. All three DD's each have 2 pairs of the Disney Mary Jane Crocs, and they were awesome for them, too. I definitely suggest wearing them before the trip to break them in like any other shoe.

Jibitz are buttons that insert into the holes in Crocs for decoration. You can buy them at Hallmark and other places. We found great deals on the at the Flea Market near Give Kids the World Village.

My wife makes her own jibitz. Here is how it works:

Find a really cute button that won't mind getting wet.

Sew (back to back) a smaller regular button to it.

Slide the small end into the hole in your Croc.

Tada, instant Jibitz.

At WDW, we found that our Crocs were comfortable, easy on the feet, quick drying, magically stayed pretty clean, and otherwise a delight. I now where them at home for long walks if it may be rainy. I do not hesitate to walk through creeks in them and keep right on going (no blisters).

I don't know if the imitation ones would have these qualities.

I live in capri crocs all summer. I have never had a problem with them with the exception that when we went to disney I had to walk all the way across pop to get a luggage cart, then all the way back to the other side of the resort to my room and it started sprinkling...then several trips to the car with the luggage cart (we moved in LOL), then had take the cart back to the luggage place to get my liscence back. With the light sprinkle of rain my feet got wet and rubbing on the crocs they got REALLY sore. I ended up having to wear my tennis shoes to the parks and soaking my feet in the pool at night.

So be careful of wet feet and walking long distances, otherwise they are awesome!

People who don't like crocs, haven't tried crocs. They have to be the REAL thing. There are tons of knockoffs. Crocs are not plastic and don't get hot. They don't smell and they are easy to clean. Read more at the website. They fit differently from other shoes (they should seem "big") and the website gives you sizing info too. We are believers...

Ok, you sold me. I'm going to get him a pair. The Croc's website had a size chart to print out and measure his foot. My main concern was his feet getting hot/sweaty in them, but since you all say no to that- I'm out to buy a pair this weekend! Thanks All! Now I even know what a "Jibitz" is!! :rotfl: You guys are the best.
