Tell me about the Wild Animal Park

Is the Wild Animal Park worth using a vacation day on? I was thinking that I would like it as much as, or more than, the San Diego Zoo, but then I spoke to a friend who has been there and he wasn't very enthusiastic about the WAP.

He said it is best to go very early or late to see the animals active. Is that true?

The WAP (or the new name everyone hates "Safari Park") is not your ordinary zoo. I don't think it take a whole day by any means. It is a fun park, it is very interesting to watch the animals in a somewhat normal environment and watch them interact. It is best to go on the Journey in the Africa in the morning or dusk to see the most animal movement. But you will see plently of animals no matter when you go. I would stay away from this park in the hot of summer as it reaches over 100 and it is very very hot. I think it's worth going, being a local I go probably once a month (but not in summer) and I find it educating and interesting. I think it is worth the experiance, but it is totally up to you... I have been with people that don't think it is worth it and I so understand, the Zoo here is amazing, so just expect a different experiance.
