Hi all ~ What do the waitresses do and say at the Prime Time Diner? Thanks! Sandra

Our server was a male, Cousin Mikey, and he was probably the best/most fun server we ever had! We loved him!!

As far as what he said, I don't have a lot of specifics. But he was all around fun and funny!

There were a few birthday's. He'd bring a cupcake and everyone in the section would sing Happy Birthday. He'd then announce that since we were all to cheap to buy a card for the birthday boy/girl HE did it and gave it to one person to sign and pass around. It was hilarious.

My dad didn't eat his veggies-so Mikey told him that since he didn't finish his veggies he made his dessert special. His leftover veggies with Whipped Cream and sprinkles!

Those are the two specifics, but other times he was just a joker. Amazing! I'd have truly adopted him if I could.

The very first time we ate there, back in 95, we had a waiter that was hysterical. He made sure DH's elbows were off the table and fed me my green beans to make sure I ate them and then made me show him "ALL GONE"

But the best was when we were being seated and the hostess introduced us to our "cousins" at the other table. It was a large family of like 14 people and the hostess said since we were the only other diners in that room that we would automatically be family. Well she made us introduce ourselves and the other people said they were from Boston...well me too (but I have lived in FL since 90) so I asked where and he said Everett. I said my family is from Everett. He asked me their name and I said Cali (her maiden name), he said is your mom Rose Cali? And I said YEAH! He said I used to date your mother and you look just like her! His sister used to date my Uncle Ronnie! Can you believe that??? They all grew up together and graduated at the same time.

We really were "family"! We talked the entire time.

Now the last time we went, Dec 05, we had a waitress that was very quiet and did not get into the antics at all. We were watching all the other diners get crazy with their servers but ours was not feeling it that day.

I don't remember specifics. However our waitress called herself "The Babysitter". Myself and DH got into lots of trouble, putting elbows on the table, not putting the napkin in our laps, not eating all our veggies, etc...

Our DD5 (4 at the time) LOVED every minute of it! Of course DH and I just HAD to push it and "purposfully" get into trouble. ;)

We really had a great time, but one must have an outgoing personality to tolerate the "gags" these wait persons do. I know some people have walked out feeling the wait persons were rude. I believe more often than not it's just because they didn't get the experiance. 50's Prime Time is def not your ordinary dining! :goodvibes

Ours was awesome! A few things I remember:
I needed a refill, but had a full mouth when she came by, so did the usual pantomime, and she gave me guff about forgetting my manners.
then later I spilled my drink, and she made me wear a little plastic little mermaid bib.
When I went with DH (who has pierced ears) the busboy asked if Grandpa took him fishing, he had a lure in his ear. It was HILARIOUS!
It was alot of fun! That was our first ADR we made this trip!

That's so cool! :lovestruc

We've been several times and it seems like the waiters/waitresses kind of play off your energy. If it seems like someone's not enjoying that type of humor they kind of back off.
I personally love the food. The pot roast is amazing. And the fried cheese appetizer is yummy.

Our Aunt Memory made my daughter stand in the corner because she had her elbows on the table. I had one bite left on my plate & she made me stand up & sing "I'm a little teapot" with gestures & everything :scared1:
She talked as though she used to babysit my husband when he was little & brought lots of napkins since she remembered how messy he was :yay: It was my birthday & she pretended my husband had told her in one of his calls back home (I was wearing my birthday button ;) She brought me a cupcake & a card signed by my Aunt Memory & gave me a big hug like I really was family.
It was a wonderful experience!
