Tell me about the puffed french toast

I am seriously on the fence about CP for breakfast, because dinner really works better with our plans to eat there early before MVMCP. We're just not real excited about any other TS meals in MK.

Anyway, we've already got Tusker House and Ohana planned for breakfasts. We will be there for 9 days, and the kids love to eat out for breakfast since we rarely do, so I am not opposed to adding another one......I just don't want to eat at CP twice since the characters are the same for both.

I love the fact that CP has an omelet station, and I've heard a lot about the puffed french toast and breakfast lasagna. Sounds like the CP breakfast would be alot different from the ones we've already planned.

I don't even LIKE french toast, though, so tell me about the puffed french toast.........

CP breakfast is our favorite of all the breakfasts in WDW. We usually try to book the last available time you can for breakfast and make it our lunch. Our time is usually 10:30 but don't get seated until 10:45-11:00. It's great because the resturant is not crowded and the characters are all yours. They will continue to replenish the buffet if you ask for something they no longer have. It's the best of both worlds. :lmao:

If you don't want to go there....then don't.

1900 PF also has an omlette station as does Boma.

To me, the puffed french toast is like a big hot crispy donut fresh from the fryer dusted with some cinnamon/sugary concoction. I don't even think I put syrup on it. YUM!!! I could seriously become a puffed french toast addict!

I know the breakfast lasagna is a big favorite for folks, but I don't care for it.

Really, I don't think CP is the best breakfast (I think it's VERY good but I think I prefer both Ohana and Cape May), but nothing beats getting into Magic Kingdom before it opens. With that in mind, I have no doubt we'll keep going. :-)

Agree with OP, the puffed french toast is more like a delicious donut (I do dunk mine in syrup; totally sinful, I know;)). The breakfast lasagna, however, is truly disgusting.

We loved breakfast here; I think part of the reason is getting into the park early and the atmosphere.

CP is my absolute favorite breakfast.

The Puffed French Toast is like the love child of a a donut and french toast. It's one of my all time favorite Disney foods. I dream about the stuff. It's addictive.

The breakfast lasanga, however, I thought was disgusting.

I have never been there but my neighbor loves the french toast. Loves it!

We usually always have breakfast there for the same reason as others getting into the MK before it opens, nice pictures of the castle before all the crowds are there and also the puffed french toast is my wifes favorite. Does anyone know if you can get puffed french toast anywhere else?

The puffed french toast is DELISH! :thumbsup2 The cheesy potatoes are great too. I am not a huge fan of the breakfast lasagna. It was just too mushy for me.

Does the puffed French toast have an "eggy" flavor? I don't like normal French toast because I don't like the taste of eggs (I don't mind if they're an ingredient in something if I can't really taste them).

YES...in my kitchen!!! :lmao:

OK, so we've never been to Crystal Palace for breakfast. We've only been there for dinner (and loved the food there). We were debating whether to do dinner there again or breakfast this time and we chose dinner. I know it must be nice to be in MK before it opens, I know the puffed french toast is wonderful. But we really did enjoy the dinner there, and it is very nice taking an afternoon break from the park and go to the resort to relax, then return to the park and eat right at the end of Main Street. Then if we decide to take the kids to the parade, we are right there.

So...because of all I had read about puffed french toast, last year on Father's Day I surprised DH and made it for breakfast. We all loved it! I got the recipe from All Ears and it is so good! So I can make it any time, and I have made it several times! Actually, at the end of February, when we had a bad snow storm, DH and I were already up and dressed for work and then our mayor decided at the last minute to close NYC public schools (we're teachers)...I immediately went into the kitchen and made some puffed french toast to celebrate!!!!!

Puffed french toast does not have an eggy taste (at least the one I made from the online recipe). People here have described it really well...it's across between french toast and a fresh hot doughnut with cinnamon sugar. You make a batter (kind of like the consistency of pancake batter), dip bread into the batter and fry it in hot oil, then immediately roll it in cinnamon sugar. It's even better if you spread a thin layer of Nutella on the bread first! Can't help it...I like to add my own personal touches! ;)

Not at all. I don't like eggs, but I LOVE the puffed french toast!
