What is the buffet all about, what is it, what is included, etc! I saw the posting on the new on the homepage, but I can't seem to find any other information about this!

That's all the information there IS, right now. It's new, never been done before. The location is back behind/between either Canada and Great Britain, or Great Britain and the road to the International Gateway.

The building was built and used for the MilleniUN Celebration, when Disney temporarily added a number of countries to World Showcase. It's now used for special events, e.g. conventions.

Anyway, right now you know as much about it as any other DISer!

This event was actually held last New Years Eve at EPCOT, it just wasn't very well publicized.

I attended this last New Year's Eve and I can tell you it is a great buffet and well worth the price. The World Showplace Pavillion (or old millenium Village) was well decorated much like Party of the Senses; however, everyone was guaranteed a table and the food was setup like a buffet.

There are several stations where you can get different foods. Alcohol is not included in the price; however, soft drinks are included.

In my opinion the best part of this event was escaping the New Years Eve crowds at EPCOT and going into a nice, well decorated, roomy enrvironment where you were not constantly bumping into people. EPCOT was so busy last New Years Eve we could hardly move from place to place. I'm not trying to scare anyone away from EPCOT, but it was simply packed to the hilt. Wait times for attractions were over 200 minutes. The next day (New Years Day) I told DW we'd never go to another theme park on New Years again. We'll spend our time at our resort.

If you do find yourself in EPCOT on New Years Eve I highly recommend this event. It's well worth the price and a great event to celebrate New Years Eve with family and friends. Also, be sure to watch the midnight showing of Illuminations with the New Years Eve tag at the end. It was one of the best fireworks shows I've ever seen; very creative and imaginative.

They did it in 2005 too- and it was called the Gala buffet or something. Awesome buffet and fun!

Does this have to do with that big (blue?) building? I've always wondered what that was...

Thanks so much ADP! I knew that it had been done in the past, but as you said I knew it wasn't all that well known. Thanks for such a great review, this sounds like a good place to relax and bring in the new year!

I know that is says background music is provided during the time, is there any other type of entertainment during it? Also, when you call for tickets do you have to pick a certain time for your table seating?

You're welcome. There was music and a dance floor. I do remember some guests dancing; especially with children. Also, I do remember kids tables with activities. That is all I recall for entertainment. I should also add the Cast Member hostesses were really wonderful. They went out of there way to welcome us. Even after we were greeted at the door they stopped by our table to converse with us about our day and evening at EPCOT. They really grew fond of our DD.

I do remember setting a time to arrive. Basically, its kind of like an ADR were you show up at the front when its time for your reservation. You are escorted to your table. The table is yours for the evening, but if you leave the pavillion they give your table to someone else. You could come back later, but you would not have a table.

Hope that helps.
