Just found out the other day that my local target is going to add a meat and produce dept. we just have regular targets/walmarts around here However, they do have a grocery/dairy/frozen but not too big never had the meat/produce. How is the quality of meat/product worth getting excited about??

We haven't bought meat yet from our Super Target, but have heard from numerous people, that there meat is very good quality. We have had there produce, haven't had a bad experience with it. We keep meaning to try there meat, but always have to go somewhere else after leaving there. One of these days we will.

Our target just added meat and produce as well. Its not a super target, but they have quite a bit of meat/produce and frozen food. I think its good for convenience, but still more expensive than at the grocery store and the selection is limited. The produce always looks fresh so its good in a pinch.

we have a super target so not sure if that makes a difference but I've found the produce and meat to be very good quality. And since there are a ton of stores around to compete with the prices are right on par with the grocery stores.

we have a super target. On some things it's alright, others its way more expensive. We've bought chicken and ground beef from them, paid more than I would anywhere else. This past Wednesday I bought a 3lb bag of granny smith's for $3.99 (not a bad price, supermarket & meijer charges $3.79, walmart charges $5.79). Every single one of them are brown in the middle. Bananas, oranges and strawberries I have never had a problem with, usually priced competitively.

The meat and produce at our SuperTarget is much better than at the local grocery stores. Prices are comparable, and some lower than the grocery store.

Also, there are a lot of food items with the Archer Farms brand - these are usually unique products/flavors that are not available in the national brands. The Archer Farms products are fabulous - we've found several different items that we really like. Unfortunately, after we "find" them, then it seems as though that item tends to be discontinued!

When they add the meat and produce section to your store it will not be like a super target. There will be a lot there, but on a much smaller scale than what you would find in a super target.

We do most of our shopping at Super Target and get most meats and produce from them. We still have to get a few things from Publix, but not a lot.

One gripe we have is that the ST only has pork chops in packs of three - why three? We need four or two, not three. So for pork we go to Publix where we can get whatever we want (which is nice).

The produce at ours is nice and generally good prices.

I don't buy so-called "fresh" meat (chicken breasts, hamburger, stew beef, pork chops, etc.) at Target b/c it isn't fresh. I'm picky about meat and only buy it at stores with butcher departments, which omits Target, Walmart, Aldi, etc. If you look at the packages at these stores where the meat is produced in a factory situation, you will find that it often has a preservative solution added.
