Tell me about the Magical Gathering Fireworks Voyage, please!

We do have 8+ in our group. Can we simply book just the Magical Gathering Fireworks Voyage without booking anything else through Magical Gatherings? If so, tell me more-please!

I believe you will have to be booked through Grand Gatherings and have a valid Grand Gatherings number to book. We're hoping to do it in June. Sounds like fun!

You need a GG # first. You can call and get this when you make your room/package ressie. You have to stay on-site to be a GG, BTW. You'll still have a ressie #, but a GG # too. Then, you can call 90 days out to make your cruise ressie. (I did this last month at 6am!). Just give them your GG# and they'll want the ages and maybe names of people in your group (it was EARLY, I can't remember). The CM told me I didn't have to pay then, but could pay by 45 days in advance; he also told me there would not be a confirmation #, that it would just be under the GG#. So, I didn't pay and didn't get a number. DON'T DO THIS! Get a cruise confirmation # and pay when you reserve!
Luckily I called back two weeks later to apply a new room discount and asked to verify my cruise info; after 1 hr. + on the phone with some nice CM's, they found my cruise ressie, which DID have a #. She said if I had paid earlier it would have helped (which I could have easily done); so, even though I had more time, I just paid then. Now, I have my GG#, my Cruise ressie #, and my hotel ressie # (plus all of the other dining ressie #'s).

I hope all of this helps and isn't too much info! There is a special number to call for GG also. If you call the CRO, they can give it to you and forward you. You can probably find in on the WDW website as well; I'd share but it is upstairs somewhere at the moment. Our cruise is on March 13th! Can't wait!
This is the only GG event we have scheduled, so the whole GG thing isn't a big deal, just allows you special things.
