Tell me about the Illuminations dessert party

I'm thinking about booking this for our next trip. I originally considered Wishes, but I think the menu of desserts here looks better and it includes adult beverages, correct? I know it's not hard to get a good viewing spot, I'm just looking for something special/new to treat my kids to. We are planning on doing the cruise on the trip after this one, but my kids are still fairly young and slightly afraid of fireworks/loud noises so I thought that would be better to wait on.

1) Just remember, this is outdoors, with no shelter.
2) In the event of bad weather, you are directed indoors elsewhere - or WDW can simply cancel the event at the last minute.
3) There is no refund due to weather or weather relocation - unless the event is cancelled outright.

I've done both the Wishes and the Illuminations dessert parties. I did think the Illuminations desserts were more interesting, and yes, free-flowing adult beverages! I think when I went there were two different types of sparkling wine (prosecco and cava?) and a rum punch (which wasn't to my taste). I thought the standing tables might bother me, but it was no big deal.
