We are booked on the Western Caribbean Itinerary C for August of 2016. I haven't been on the Fantasy before, so lay it on me! What should I know about being on the Fantasy? Best parts/worst parts? Favorite "hidden" locales? We've got two kids (5--girl and 7--boy) so what will they like best? Anything you can tell me would be much appreciated!

It's a loverly ship, ride aquaduck, ho to the shows, eat at cabanas. Read up on navigators so you can see the activities. Worst bit the crowds at the pools and chair hogs, the best bit the staff the staterooms end the entertainment.

If you have non-kid time, Satellite Falls is a must. I second aquaduck and also do mid-ship detective agency, it's lots of fun.

Ride the Aqua Duck, especially at night. The shows are amazing. If buckets n boards is performing, don't miss them. Catch movies in the theater. Drop the kids off and check out Satellite Falls and also Quiet Cove pool. And you should definitely purchase a pass for the Rain Forest Room.

We had an 8 year old who LOVED the kids club! She closed it down every night and wanted to skip the nice dinner most nights. We had more time together as a couple than we have had in 14 years but plenty of time as a family too. She was in tears (as we all were) when it was time to leave. Enjoy!

We just got off fantasy today. Here are some things we liked and didn't.

Liked

Palo! This was awesome and totally worth it. Ask for Carl as a waiter if he's still there

Try for an upgrade at the terminal. We went from family with verandah to a 1BR concierge room. It was 1/12th the differential cost beforehand!

Milk and cookies from room service

Cabana on castaway cay (CC)

Shuffleboard during sunset

Rainforest room or just take a free shower in the spa locker rooms.

Midship detective agency

A movie during sea days

The family afternoon shows - ventriloquist, comedy, magic

Pirate night!! Including the family pirate game show in D Lounge

FISH EXTENDERS!!!

animation drawing classes

Pictionary and trivia

Sting ray snorkeling at CC

Turkey and cranberry sandwiches on deck 11 mid. NOT cabanas

Pool and aquaduck at night. 810-30 pm was the perfect time. No lines and movie watching in pool when not crowded or hot!

Pin trading!

Did NOT like

Cabanas. Nope. Hated it. Tried a few times. It's like people forgot how to eat and be modest. America at its worst. Sorry folks. That was the impression I got. Especially the first day. Such a turn off. Go to the other place for a quick bite on deck 11

Kids club staff - wasn't the best Disney staff on this cruise. Don't know why. Just seemed a bit off to us.

St Maarten - not a great port IMO. Not a ton family friendly stuff to do

What did you not like about cabanas? Was it the line? The taste of food? Please share what you mean by America at its worse.

What is Satellite falls?

Sperk99....we were on the same cruise and could not agree more about cabanas!! On our second day we found the great sandwiches and wraps on 11 and that was our lunch the rest of our days on ship.

Congrats on the upgrade! We were going to try for one ourselves, but ended up getting to port later than anticipated.

And I agree about satellite falls! We enjoyed it up there. The first day it was really windy, but after that it was great. And aqua duck at night was awesome. We were able to go up to deck 13 for fireworks since we don't have kids and had a great view of the fireworks. It was a great cruise and we enjoyed ourselves. I can only hope I can get on another one someday

My interpretation of that post was that people helped themselves to too much food, forgetting they could return for more, were pissy about people cutting in line, when they are no lines, you just go to each station as you wish as it isn't a cafeteria line, generally had no manners, and forgot how to cover up when eating in a dining venue and not sunbathing on the pool deck.

Just my interpretation and I may be very wrong.

That is exactly what I meant. Thanks. The guests who I encountered eating at cabana were just rude and insensitive American citizens. Adults forgot simple manners like please and thank you and acted as if they had not seen food in weeks. The general disregard for crew members who are away from their families and working very hard to provide a great vacation for us was shocking to me!

Yeah. I thought maybe it was for people going straight to each station without waiting in a line. I can see the over indulging, but as long as the plate is rather clean at the end. I'm ok with that.

Not every cruise will you find it like this. I hope. Sorry to hear that it wasn't an enjoyable part of your cruise. Being rude generally though can be helped.
