Tell me about the Dolphin standard rooms and views

I have a standard room booked for April with a great rate. I am going to try to upgrade with points when we arrive but I know the upgrades are based upon availability. Sooo.. I want to be prepared for the standard room/view. We have had several stays at the Swan and LOVED it. PLEASE tell me we will love the Dolphin just as much.

I have stayed at the Dolphin twice (both times in July) with standard room ressies each time. My first standard room was on the lagoon side of the hotel right in the center with an excellent view of MGM and Epcot fireworks. Beautiful. The next time we were on the side of the hotel facing Epcot, BC, and YC. Great view; great room...but good bit more of a walk from everything.

LOVED the Dolphin. Be sure to join the Starwood Guest program. In my experience, they will upgrade you (view-wise) if possible for free. The standard room was large and the heavenly beds were HEAVENLY!

Be sure to eat at Fresh for Breakfast. On the weekend, if you time it right, you can have breakfast and lunch items! It is one of the best restaurants in WDW. We all loved it (DH, DS 14 and DD 11)!

Thanks for the info. I am feeling a little better about our decision to stay at the Dolphin now. We joined the Starwood Guest program and have points from our stays at the Swan and I agree the heavenly beds are the best. Thanks for the tip on Fresh also. We can't wait to try it!

I stayed in a standard room at Dolphin for a couple nights. The room overlooked the front entrance. While it wasn't the most picturesque view, I didn't mind at all really. I was not in the room much anyway.

I've stayed at the Swan too. I loved both resorts!! I hope to stay at both again in the future.

The heavenly beds are truly wonderful! If you get an ice cream craving, the ice cream at the Fountain in the Dolphin is excellent.
