Thanks to the out of this world Military discounts, I have booked a short 5 day/4 night trip for DH and I the first full week of December. I noticed that the candlelight processional should be 'showing' during that week. I've read the WDW info about it, but I am unclear on a few things, and I was hoping someone could answer my questions:

1. How long is the show?
2. Do you have to do the dinner package or can you purchase tickets solo?
3. Can you still see if you're in tier 1 seating?

I am over the moon excited about this trip. I have always wanted to go at Christmas, and now we can!!!

Thanks for your answer! :goodvibes

1. 35 minutes, give or take.

2. No tickets are needed. But if you utilize the Dining Pkg, you will be allowed to enter the theater
before those waiting in the "standby line."
And, many performances are so busy/full, that many guests waiting in standby can't be seated.

3. The seating is "OPEN", the tier refers to the cost of the meal.

The American Gardens Theater is not very large. Guests may stand at the rear of the audience
and still enjoy the show without being seated.

Thanks, Robo! Soo....if you do the dinner, you're at least guaranteed a seat, is that correct?

IF you arrive before about 10-15 minutes before show-time. At that point, they open the standby line.

I recommend that you arrive at least 45 min. before show-time, even if you HAVE the DP.

We got in line for the 12/22 show (we had the package with the reserved seating) around 7:30 for the 8:15 -- it might have been even earlier than that. We were standing outside the Japan store at that point - I thought the package holder line was incredible. See the little pagoda roofline in Robo's picture? We were still quite a ways beyond that -- out of the view of that photo. I don't know if any non-package holders got a seat that night, I'm not sure how they could have.

Thanks for the info. It will be our first time to the Processional as well so I was wondering abt it too. A CM on the dining ressie phone line advised me to start calling in June to book the dining pkg.

We totally lucked out our very last night (12/18). We happened to be walking by the theatre just as the show was starting (choir was still filing in). The stand-by line had emptied out, but they were still letting people in. We hopped in line and they plunked us and about 20 others on the wall along the side of the theatre. We assumed those were our "seats" - which would have been fine with us. However, they sorted out how many empty seats were left on the edges, and then scooted us in from the side to some empty rows less than halfway back from the stage!

We saw pretty much the entire show with no wait and excellent seats. So lucky!!

If you love the real story of Christmas, this is not to be missed. Even if you just enjoy good singing and Christmas music, it is worth the visit.

I saw Steven Curtis Chapman and it was a wonderful presentation. The vocals were wonderful, it was very moving and of course Steven being the Christian he is, he added a few special touches of his own.

When I go in December, if I like the narrator, it is a must-do for me!

I am praying that Ryan Patrick Harris will be there around the same time so hopefully we get to see him! I just love him! :)
