We have an October trip planned at Poly w/ MK view. What is the walk (distance) like from the Great Ceremonial House to the Tahiti Bldg?? I'm not sure whether to request this building or the Tuvalu. Any suggestions?? My main concern is the distance from GCH----is it (Tahiti) as far as it looks on the map??

Thank you.

I LOVE the Tahiti longhouse. It is one of the farthest from the GCH, but is a quick walt ovet to the TTC to grab the monorail to epcot or MK and bupassing the need to switch from the resort monorail. You can also grab the boat to MK easily from there, too. It just seems quieter and more secluded in Tahiti. I would say it's only a 5 min walk to GCH. Tahiti is one of the newer longhouses, so it has larger rooms and double sinks...Never stayed in Tuvulau, so I'm not sure about room size there.

We stayed in Tahiti when it was Moorea. We thought it was equally convenient between TTC and the GCH. We had a view of MK and it was nice. Room was very big and we had plenty of room for the five of us (we brought our two nieces with us on that trip).

thanks Piglets Mommy!!

I haven't stayed at the Poly since I was a little girl, so many of the longhouses didn't even exist---showing my age, I suppose.;)

I know that longhouse requests are just that---requests, but I will try my hardest to make this trip as perfect as it can be.

Good to know that the MK boat is easily accessible from Tahiti----I never even thought about that. I knew about the TTC, but never crossed my mind about the boat dock.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks Deb & Bill!!!
I think we were posting at the same time.

It's so difficult to judge distances from the maps. Sooooo, just can't wait to find out in person.:cool1:

You also have your own "private" beach right behind you! When we stayed in Tahiti, there was never anyone on it! Everyone goes to the one behind Hawaii. We loved Tahiti! Watching the castle change colors at night from your bed is AWESOME!

My husband and I stayed at Poly for the first time in June. We were in Tahiti and loved it. The rooms are huge, and as was previously mentioned, there are double sinks in the bathroom. We really enjoyed being so close to the TTC, and the walk to the GCH wasn't long at all, and was pleasant. We, too, enjoyed the private beach and watching Wishes from there - almost like having our own private fireworks! The quiet pool is not far from Tahiti, and we loved its convenience and small crowds. If we stay at the Poly again (which I certainly hope to do!), I'd choose Tahiti again. We had a first floor room this time, but I might try a balcony room in the future... Have a great time!:wizard:

We stayed at the Polynesian for the first time in July and we were in the Tahiti building. It was a long walk to the GCH, but a short walk to the TTC. I would request Tuvalu or something closer to the GCH. :)

I stayed in Tuvalu and it is much closer to the GCH than the Tahiti building. A bulk of the time to walk to the GCH (which took about 3 - 5 minutes) was because you have to go around the marina to get there. Another added bonus for the Tuvalu building is, since there is no beach in front of it (its to the side and very quiet), the room looks like it's 'floating' on the water. :cloud9:

Unless you have to have double-sinks, I'd vote for Tuvalu. :thumbsup2
