Tell me about Swiss Family Treehouse

So weird I should see this mentioned today. I've never had vertigo in my life, but got it on the treehouse the other day and have been experiencing it on and off ever since. I think it's from the plane. My ears are very bad on airplanes, but this is the first time I've had this sort of effect. There was a kid swinging the bridge back and forth when we were on it so at first I thought it was just from that.

I think both times we underestimated how many stairs it is and I ended up slightly dehydrated. We only went on long days were that was all there was left to do on the list (and a great debate on if we had ever done it before or not the 2nd time) so maybe the long day, lack of water, and just height was the perfect storm.

It's one of the "classic Walt" attractions still left in the parks. My daughters loved it as kids and still love it as adults. So do I. We've seen the movie multiple times.

It's usually quiet and empty up there. I love it at night.

Only thing that bothers us it that there are only two beds for the boys, but they had three boys!

We've been to Disney 20 times, usually without kids, and never checked out the treehouse. September will be a family trip and our grandkids. 12, 9, 8, ,7 and 4 will be with us along with our kids and their spouses. Is it fun for kids? I'm 63 with some weak knees and a few extra pounds ( my marathon running days are over). Is it tough getting around? Fill me in please.
Not sure what your dates are in September but the Treehouse will be closed for refurbishment from July until 9/25..so just a heads up :)

This is one of the attractions I am looking forward to doing during our visit at the end of September. We are Disneyland Locals and our tree house is now Tarzan’s. It is very nostalgic for me and sharing the tree house I knew as kid with my daughter is very exciting.

Thank you for all the reviews!!!
I think I will let the kids decide when the fast passes run out. .

We do it every time. I loved the movie as a kid, and DD loved it 40 years later, but I'm not sure that's a requirement. And yes, there are a lot of stairs but you don't have to take them fast -- in fact, you might not want to, to take it all in (I find places to let people pass).

But it depends on the kids -- do they like to imagine what it would be like to sleep in their own bedroom way far away from everyone else in a treehouse, or track the water through its outdoor plumbing to see if it makes sense, or wonder how do you get a piano into the living room? If not, this might bore them.

And, as PP said, you can sit this one out, as there's just one way in, not too far from the only way out.

It's a classic and not to be missed. DH and I usually eat Dole Whips while DS does it. He doesn't like Dole Whip:confused3 I would say he's adopted, but I remember labor:rotfl2:I have fond memories of it from when I was a kid. It's just one of those magical, simple things that drives imagination. There's so much detail. I remember wishing I could live there as a kid:)
