Tell me about staying at the Wilderness Cabins

Look on the Camping Board here too. There are several cabin loops 2100 through 2800 I think. We have stayed in 2100 and 2700. The cabins themselves are very nice, bunk beds and full bed in bedroom with TV, regular full bath, full frig, stove, oven, microwave, pantry, dishes and cookware in kitchen, another TV in living room, table, small love seat, and pull down Murphy bed (ours was comfortable--DH is 6'2" and I'm Pooh sized). There is a nice deck, grill and picnic table outside. The small pool and laundry are in the 2500 loop, but I just drove over (maybe 3 parking spaces). You'll need cups for the bathroom, salt and pepper, a cookie sheet for pizza or cookies, and coffee filters.

The following is from Deb Wills www.allearsnet.com

What are the Fort Wilderness Cabins like?

The Cabins also have "enhanced wilderness theming," which includes furniture that appears to be roughhewn from branches and a log cabin-like veneer exterior. Also, all Cabins come equipped with bunk beds in the bedroom, in addition to the double bed, and therefore, will all sleep 6 persons. There are 13 Wilderness Cabins that are set up to be handicapped-accessible, all located on Loop 2800. Interior and exterior photos of the Cabins are located in the FW Photo Gallery.

The number of Cabins in each loop is as follows:

2100 loop - 44 cabins; 2200 loop - 44 cabins; 2300 loop - 30 cabins; 2400 loop - 49 cabins; 2500 loop - 33 cabins; 2600 loop - 65 cabins; 2700 loop - 72 cabins; 2800 loop - 70 cabins. Additionally, there are two cabins located on campsites 118 and 120 in the 100 loop that are used exclusively by Disney management and other corporate types. Finally, there is an unfurnished single cabin near the 2300 loop that is used by Housekeeping.

Hope that helps!

We have decided on the cabins for our next trip. We have recently done Poly, WL, and BC. We loved all of them - but DH wants to do the FW cabins next (anything that makes him agree to another trip to the World is ok by me!) We are going after a 4 Day Wonder cruise so I think being able to relax with DH in a more "homey" setting after the kids go to bed will be great. I think DS5 and DD3 will love all the activities (night movies, petting zoo, camping atmosphere, and golf cart!). Read the board on "camping in Disney" and you will find out some great information. I am really looking forward to my trip after reading so many great things about the resort.

We stayed there. It was okay. We will not be back there. Sorry, it wasn't me.

We loved the cabins! If you do decide to visit FW, definitely plan on renting an electric cart, and make ressies well in advance. It is so much fun! Our DD enjoyed FW as much as the theme parks. There is just so much to do there. :sunny:

My family and I stayed there a few times when I was a kid. My sister and I loved the bunk beds! Have a great trip! :)

I stayed here 3 time and loved every time. I love the peaseful feeling you get when staying here. Don't forget you have maid service also with the cabins. They do your dishes clean your grill and coffee pop. The campfire is great be sure and bring your marmallows and sticks. If you forget them they sell them there but are pricey. Make plans to eat at Trails End it is great and the food is good. At Night you can see the Elictrical Water ParDE AT 9:45 at the beach and dock not to be missed. You can see the fireworks also from MK You will love it here.
