Tell me about Sizzix Paddle Punches please?

Is it possible to use the Sizzix Paddle Punches with another hammer or only theirs? I was thinking DH has a rubber mallet & wondered if that would work. (I don't want to have to buy the whole starter set if I don't have to.)

What type of material is the cutting pad made of? Is it similar to the cutting pad for the big Sizzix machine?

this would be an item that i got during the qvc all day thingy - but i havent used it yet - so i dont know about the hammer but it seems like it would work - but as far as the pad - it looks more like a mouse pad than the sizzix one

Hey - at least we're saving gas! I figure I've saved a TON of money!! Let's add it up...
$6 for gas
$93 on the punches
$7.08 for tax
$10 - $15 for the other miscellaneous goodies I would have picked up in the store
$116 to $121 saved!! Hmmmm, now what could I spend that on??

I know! I could order the Girls are Weird font I want! But if I used the 40% coupon on that also....hmmm, how much would that save me??

Wow we both do Math the same way.
I am not sure why DH does the math a different way.

Well I always was good at Creative Math. My Algebra II teacher told me she'd never seen anything like it! (And yes, I did get all A's) However, Calculus seemed a little too restrictive to me so I skipped it.

DH on the other hand loved Calculus so much that he not only took it in high school, he also took it in college - when he didn't even need it!! So I know why he approaches math in a whole different way.

Of course I won't even mention that I wasn't planning on spending anything! Does that mean I spent money instead of saving?? Say it isn't so!!
