Tell me about Shulas Please ??

Where did you find the coupon? We're going in June & a 20% off coupon would be great!

1) If you join the "Club" (on-line), you get an email coupon for your Birthday.
2) It is a buy-one-get-one free entrée.
3) At Shula prices, this is a MAJOR savings (could be $20-$40).

Shula's is one of our must do restaurants each trip. Elegant and quiet--the sports theming is tastefully understated.

A big plus is atmosphere--almost entirely kid free.

As a side note--when you arrive and if you don't think you can manhandle a giant steak, ask if they have a petite filet. It won't be on the menu most likely but Mrs U has been very successful in getting one.

And to add that Mrs U and I almost always eat at the bar at Shulas.

FYI, in reference to another poster, it wasn't almost entirely kid free when we where there. My 2 son's (teens) were there, along with them I counted at least 10 other kids ranging from 2ish to 7ish. The 2 year old climbed in the booth on top of her mother most of the meal.

Eating at the bar sounds like a great option!!

checked Shula's website a loy of PR BS!! You can't go higher the prime per USDA! They can claim all they want and call it what they want but leagally it can only be called prime at best. I worked at a beef processing plant and the best you can get per USDA inspectors is prime. The 1 way they could try to get around it is some how get around the USDA inspectors

Gotta comment - I already talked about Shula's, about 5 posts up :).

Should you choose to not go there? Your choice.... more food, and attention, for us :).

Kids are why we always eat at the bar these days!!

You can bet they are in full compliance with all USDA standards. And having eaten there about 15 times now, I can say their meat is just as good as at any of the few spots that serve Prime.

the point is they claim they are above prime! It can't be done. They are claimimg a BS PR And I have eaten at far too many top nitcg steak houses and they calim prime not over it

It's ok, but it's not a top steakhouse IMO. If you're looking for a steak similar to Del Frisco's, Pappas (Texas) or maybe a top steakhouse in New York or Vegas, etc it's not at that level (even though it's prices are). I'd be interested to try Bull and Bear. I think a really good Prime steakhouse would do very well in WDW.

GLAD you mentioned Bull&Bear - it's on our "to do" list as well :).

I am sure they are in compliance.... but the point is they are still USDA Choice steaks. I like Shula's, but that doesn't mean I don't resent their prices. But staying at the Yacht Club as much as I do, it is convenient and different from the Yachtsman. It is good for variety, but if I was staying at the MK I don't know that I'd make an effort to get to it.

If I want a great steak nearby I go to the Bull & Bear at the Waldorf Astoria.

I agree about the quality of Shula's relative to other places (NYC, Vegas, etc), I am not sure a truly great steakhouse would fare well on property which is probably why they don't have one. Even the Yachtsman has fewer prime choices than they used to.

The exception might be if they could get Puck to put a Cut on property (GF?). It would need to be a place that locals would drive past Morton's, Ruth's Chris etc to get to.
