We are currently booked for Caribbean Beach Resort for Christmas but I have been considering switching to Saratoga Springs. We have two small boys and want to know if kids enjoy that resort, the food, and overall experience . It's a price jump and just wanted to know if it was worth it?

It’s a DVC resort. So, the rooms are studios, 1BR, 2BR, plus 3BR grand villas and treehouse villas.

Small kids tend to just enjoy being at Disney and they don’t put as much emphasis on the resort as adults do.

The resort rooms are being renovated, so some are updated and new while others are in pretty shabby condition. DVC resorts do not get updated as frequently as regular hotel rooms and they get more use. So they tend to show their age as they approach the time for a scheduled renovation.

SSR is within walking distance of Disney Springs. That will give you access to the widest choice of dining experiences of any resort. But there is currently no boat transportation to DS. That could change by Christmas.

The resort is large and spread out. Not everyone appreciates the expansiveness of SSR. The treehouses are very isolated. You can walk from your villa to anywhere on property or you can catch a bus to get where you want to go.

“Worth” is subjective, especially since I have no idea how much of a price difference and for how long a stay you are considering.

For what you are paying and where staying. Wouldn’t make the change. Fun pool theming and skyliner. At the secluded Saratoga Springs, the kids aren’t going to be asking to go to Disney Springs. They will be saying “Skyliner Skyliner!! Hollywood Studios and EPCOT please!!” for sure.

I would agree with the others, stay where you are. SSR is a wonderful DVC resort (we are staying there for Christmas this year), however with 2 small boys, I would stick with CBR. As mentioned above, the Skyliner is a huge plus and the boys will love it! The whole resort was just redone and the main pool has great theming. The big draw for SSR is its proximity to DS, you can walk across the bridge or take a boat (when they resume running) - either way its 10 min to Disney Springs, max. SSR tends to cater to the more adult crowd, in that it has a Spa and is geared for a more quite stay. My personal opinion is you made a great choice to stay at CBR.
