We just scheduled a last minute trip and are flying in & out of Sanford. It's been years since I've been there. We are staying at Portofino and using Tiffany Towncar for transportation (our fav of all the transport options).

Arriving: Does baggage take a long time? We are being picked up at "1st floor bottom escalator". Is that very far from baggage claim. (I have mobility issues and want to be prepared.)

Departure: How long does it usually take for security? Is it necessary to arrive over 2 hours in advance? We have TSA pre-check and Blue. Do they have Blue at Sanford?

Thanks!

It's been a couple of years for me, but the last time I went through Sanford, when I got to security, the only other passenger was walking away after collecting all of their things. However, you mention you have mobility issues. IIRC, security was on the second floor. I'm sure they have an elevator, but I'd allow extra time just in case. I'd plan on arriving 90 minutes ahead. That should be plenty of time. You could probably even do closer to 60, but I'm always paranoid about missing my flight.

You didn't ask this, but I'm going to mention it anyway - when we flew into Sanford a few years ago and had Tiffany Towncar pick us up, we had requested a grocery stop.

The driver insisted on going to a particular grocery store. My notes said that I thought it was the Publix at 4195 W Lake Mary Blvd, Lake Mary, FL, 32746-2410.

From the time we left the grocery store, it took an hour until we arrived at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I told the driver that I knew there was a Publix closer to the hotel, but the driver said it would be approaching the hotel from the opposite direction. She said it was either the Publix she chose or a gas station.

I was not pleased.

Just thought I should mention it in case you were planning a grocery stop to buy perishables.
