We are staying in a GV at OKW in September w/ one DD and her boyfriend and second DD and her husband and 2-yr-old. I have a meal booked at Sanaa because, after looking at the menu, there's something everyone can find to enjoy and because DGS can watch the animals. What have your dining experiences been there, please?

I have had lunch at Sanaa twice in the last two weeks (we are locals). Sanaa is excellent food, the salads are tasty and different, the bread service is tasty and different. Last time I had the Tandori Shrimp and the DW had the tandorri chicken. I thought the chicken tasted better but the shrimp was still good.

I took my two daughters one time and the DW and girls the second time.

The tomato soup is very good, not out of a can.

They even were able to whip up Mac and Cheese (and it was fantastic mac and cheese) from the Meaty Mac kids menu item. The Brown derby was not able to do this even thought they had the same Meaty Mac entree for kids.

The Vanilla Rice Pudding is really really good.

Sanaa is a very good TS resturant and is quickly becoming a favorite.

We ate at Sanaa twice on our trip in December. For dinner, I had the (sustainable?) fish and it was so good. Simple, but so flavorful I could have licked the bowl. For lunch I had the Tandoori Chicken, and DH had the Tandoori Shrimp, and I agree with PP the chicken was better. Oh, yum. I am hungry just thinking about it. There is a duck appetizer that is delish, and the bread service is great too! We were not impressed with their desserts, I would never pay OOP for a dessert here, but on the dining plan if you want something sweet the chocolate cake was ok. I would rather head over to the Mara for zebra domes, carrot cake, fresh fruit, or cheesecake for a better dessert. Oh, and we got to watch the giraffes during lunch, it was so nice...and the waitstaff is super friendly...very accommodating, especially to our DD3 and DD4...treated them like little princesses. Have I convinced you? I've convinced myself, another trip to Disney just to eat at Sanaa it is! :lmao:

We went this past September because of the reviews on here. Nither my husband or I enjoyed the food. We will not go back. The atmosphere was nice, the service was good. We were seated by the window and the kids watched the animals. The waiter told them some history about the animals. We didn't like the food. I had the tandori chicken and found it bland. We have beeen to many resturants on property that one time was great and another was not very good at all. You have to try it for yourself as everyones tase are different.

Fantastic food, awesome setting (both the restaurant and the view), good service, moderately priced....it's not to be missed! :thumbsup2

Went there for lunch this past December and the restaurant was nearly empty. Personally I enjoyed the food alot, but my mom did not at all, and my little sister didnt eat anything. I liked the food, but it wasnt worth the price IMO so a return is very doubtful, but it was good.

Sanaa does not have a menu from which we'd normally eat. We went in with an open mind to try new things and found ourselves VERY pleasantly surprised. The food has a really unique combination of flavors and you could tell that the ingredients were of very high quality. We were on the DDP and found the desserts to be pretty good, but like most desserts at most restaurants, not really necessary or worth the price unless you feel like splurging. The Chai Cream was my wife's favorite, even though it was REALLY rich. I preferred the unique, more refined taste of the cardamom cake.

We went last May, about a week after it opened for the first time. We found the staff to be very attentive and helpful. We were there for a late (8:45) dinner, so there was no animal watching for us, but it was very dimly lit and romantic. Our server took the time to explain the decor and the storyline of the restaurant, which was a nice touch. I'd say I've craved the bread service at least once a week for the past year. It will be our first meal of our return trip this May.

We loved it, and it is definately one of our new fave's! The restaurant itself is gorgeous, the view of the animals grazing outside your window is stunning, service was impeccable, we were not rushed-at all- and,....the food was out of this world! The bread and toppings for it was a great way to sample flavors and so were the you pick three salad sampler. Our server helped us pick them and she was very helpful in explaining what each one was like so we were sure to enjoy our selection. For entree, I had the spce crusted game hen with cherries. OMG! I cannot wait to have it again. It was like a super-moist roasted chicken covered in subtle, exotic herbs and sprinkled with cherries. Soooo delish. Press pot coffee and chai-cream for dessert. Was so wonderful!
If you have been to Boma and like how it's food is "a little different' than other restaurants, then yiou will love Sanaa! If you're not sure, go to Boma and wet your palate first. :)

We tried Sanaa at our visit last September and loved it!

We love Indian food and eat it regularly at home, so the flavors were familiar...but we had great service was wonderful, the atmosphere was nice, and every we had was delicious. We loved the wine flights, and the naan, scallop appetizer, curry, steak entree, and the chai creme was really good!

:ssst::ssst::ssst: SSSSHHHHH! If we keep telling people how good Sanaa is, it will become impossible for all of us to get an ADR. Keep this one a secret!

OP - It's horrible! Stay away! The worst food I have ever had in my life.

Tooooo Late! Already booked!

I enjoyed the bread service appetizer, which is worth every penny, IMHO.

And my dinner of "sustainable fish" was arctic char with shrimp and scallops. I would say this ranks up there as one of the best fish dishes I've ever had.

I hate Indian curry spices in general, but this dish did not have anything in it I would normally find unappealing. If you love Indian curry, my friends rave about the specific curry dishes they have on the menu.

Sanaa is must for us on every trip! The bread service and tomato soup are excellent. We also like the sustainable fish and the curry dishes.

Ask for a table by the window when you check in!

We have a 6:30 p.m. reservation booked for next week. Is it likely that we will see the animals at that hour?

Sanaa = YUM! We loved it here. DS loved it too. He had the tomato soup appetizer (would have licked the bowl if I'd let him!) and they made him a pasta dish as he is not a big meat eater. He said it was all yummy. DH and I LOVED it. We had vegetarian dishes that had more of an Indian flair. DH is Indian and I love Indian food and this was some of if not the best we'd ever had. The bread service is delicious. Can't wait till our September trip to go to Sanaa again!!!

We love Sanaa... Infact, I just wrote a review of it on my new blog, MandiMunches. You can click the link in my signature if you want to read it. (Also, reviewed The Wave from last Saturday!)

kissakat: We dined there last week at 6:30 p.m. and saw lots of animals. You don't need a window table to see them as the windows are very big.

Sorry, we didn't like Sanaa and we absolutely love Indian and African food. The food is just average Indian/African, the same quality you'd get at a cheaper curry take-out.

Also, service was exceptionally slow. At one point we didn't see our waitress for 1/2 hour. There were no refills on our drinks. We contemplated dessert, but couldn't wait any longer.
