So, we had reservations at Teppan Edo, which will now not be open at the time, so we decided to switch to Rose and Crown. Can anyone tell me how it is? What do you like/not like there? Is the food good? We've never been there before. Thanks!

When I went it was before they cut down the menu. I had the Guiness stew (which is no longer served) It was very tasty, but barely warm. The leek soup was very good. The fish and chips are good, but since you can get them counter service and the menu is limited I wont be going back any time soon.

This was my favorite meal last September - I "skipped out" on the fam and enjoyed blissful solitude overlooking the water... :cloud9:

I had the mushroom appetizer which was delicious, stewed mushrooms with cream on top of a puff pastry. Then I had the fish & chips, which were good. I really enjoyed the peas they came with - peas are one of my top veggies - and these weren't the mashed up, grey-green kind, they were the real, individual, bright green ones. I'm also a huge fish fan, but I wasn't too impressed with the chips part. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which was good but I was rather full at this time. They had also brought out some yummy bread at the beginning.

And, of course, I had to have a pint of Boddingtons!

I hope you enjoy your meal! I sure did! :thumbsup2

Rose & Crown has always been one of my favorite restaurants and we always eat there every trip. However, this past May I ate there solo and for the first time was really disappointed in my meal. They've changed the menu. The fruit and cheese plate has changed--has different cheeses and is not as big. I tried their new pork loin and also their new berry scone. Both were very dry and tasteless. I couldn't believe it was the same restaurant. I won't be returning for awhile. I already had my ADRs for my Sept trip made when I went in May. The first thing I did when I got back from my May trip was cancel Rose and Crown from my Sept trip. I replaced it with Chefs de France.

I got to talking to the people sitting next to me. They were also fans of Rose & Crown, but were talking about how bad the food was that night. We were all disappointed.

We had Teppanyaki ADR's but they have been cancelled. The CM told me to go to Rose & Crown but after reading this thread, I am wondering if that is a good idea.
Where would you go to watch illuminations and eat (good food) at the same time?

One of our favorite places! I would order exactly what this poster said.
Servers are always so great and friendly. Hope you enjoy it as much as us.
