So, I just booked a free hotel stay (using points) at Ramada Plaza! Now, we usually stay closer, but for free, I figure the walk is doable, yes? Those of you who've stayed there before, is there anything I need to know? I read some older threads/reviews that mention a free breakfast, but I didn't see that mentioned on their website. Has it been discontinued? If not, what can we expect to find there? Also, how is parking there, tight or plentiful? Also, is it free? Is it true that it's a hotel, instead of a motel?

We stayed there in 2009. Honestly I would not underestimate the walk. At night, after a full day of walking in the parks, that 15(ish) min walk was brutal (especially a day or 2 into the trip). And that was just dh and I, Dd wasn't born yet. I can understand taking it because it is free, just be prepared for that walk! I don't remember if they had a breakfast when we were there. I know we went and bought small cereal boxes (the travel kind) and milk to keep in the room, but I don't remember if we had to do that, or if it was just preference.

It is a hotel, with inside corridors. They do have parking, but I don't recall it being tons and tons of parking. It was similar to hotels on harbour IIRC.

Overall as a hotel it was fine. If it was closer, we would stay there again. The end of night walk just got to us too much though, so now we try to stay closer.

Free is an amazing deal! Are you near a Disney parking lot where you could take a shuttle?

We stayed at that Ramada. The room was one of the nicer ones we've had in Anaheim. The walk is a bit long, but we walked it each day of our trip (4 days I believe). We received breakfast vouchers with our room booking. The breakfast is NOT free, it's just that a lot of bookings give you a free breakfast with your stay there. It is a hot buffet. Honestly, if you have to pay for it, I'd skip the breakfast because you can get better food for that price. If it's free then you might as well eat it.

It is a hot and very decent. The parking was good and we were in a bigger SUV.

We were there for the Disneyland Half Marathon and breakfast was included. Alas I could not partake. But DH and DS did. They said it wasn't good. DS doesn't remember the first time we were there but that time the breakfast was good, but since I didn't eat there the second time I can't compare.

Take the walk slowly and you'll be fine. If I could do it while saving strength for the run and then after the run, it's a doable walk.

We have stayed there multiple years, one of the best bargains with distance to entrance, comparable pricing to hotels located further down. No not Marriott style but comfortable beds clean beds and clean, staff is friendly.

Thanks for the replies! We'll plan on bringing breakfast food for everyone, not just the allergic (and the allergic by proxy). I know the walk will be, well, a walk; we once stayed at the Super 8 near there (and I didn't love the walk). The good news is that I'll only have one baby in a stroller this time, instead of two smallish kids in a double like I had last time. Our other free option was the Travelodge over on Ball, which we have stayed at before. The Travelodge has a free breakfast, but that walk was long and lonely. At least here, the walk should be well-populated.

So, it just occurred to me - how big is the in-room fridge? We're used to the bigger mini-fridge (like they have at the adel Sol and Desert Inn). Does Ramada plaza have a bigger mini-fridge, or the square ones? We plan on stopping at the grocery store on the way in. Will we have room for two half gallons of milk-like products and some yogurt?
