Never had a spa treatment of any kind so I don't know what to wear, what to expect. DH and I are thinking of Rainforest Room. Walk me through process--do you just walk in whenever you want, do we wear our swimsuits or what else? Anyone done the couples massage?

The rainforest room does not require reservations. I bought a one week pass and would show it at the front desk of the spa. They gave me a locker key. I wore my swimsuit to and from the locker room, although I think robes may be available--I just didn't ask.

The rainforest room has two steam rooms--one is very small. There is also a dry sauna room--very large. There are several showers in the room. My favorite part is the heated tile loungers--much more comfortable than they look. I loved the rainforest room.

Just got back I did the Rainforest room prior to my massage it was very nice. I came with my bathing suit in bag. They gave me a key, robe, and slip ons. I changed in to my bathing suit, robe & slip ons. The whole room is very big with different sauna chambers and showers. I went during Nasssau port hours and there was only one other person in the Rainforest. My massage was scheduled for 4:15pm so I enjoyed 45 minutes of relaxation prior to my massage. The one thing I did not realize is that the sauna rooms are on a schedule where the steam and music are released at intervals. So when I first went in the citrus aromatherapy sauna it smelled great but no steam, so I went to the other sauna which had alot of steam and also smelled of herbs. Eventually the citrus sauna turned on and the steam was heavenly. I tried all the different showers and saunas and I wish I had more time after my massage but I had to go to a predinner get together. The day use cost is $15, but if you are scheduled for a massage that day you can purchase the Rainforest for $8 and use it anytime during the day of your massage.

I never did the couples massage but the Spa is run by Elemis and they offer great services. On my other cruise I had two massages and did the Rasul chamber with my husband. On this cruise I did the spa tester which I loved.
They give you a form and you write down what type of massage. I requested a deep tissue/accupressure massage and it was just perfect!!!

I recommend that you look into the Romantic Escape at Sea package so you can book your massage and Palo reservations without the boarding reservation rush and receive priority for your bookings.

Have fun !!!

The rainforest room is $15 for a single day pass or $75 for unlimited use during a whole week. DH and I each bought an unlimited use pass and we were in the Rainforest every day - we loved it!

You just check-in at the desk and tell them what you're there for - they will take your key to the world card and give you a basket with a robe and a locker key. You can change into your swimsuit and wear the robe over it into the rainforest room, or if you're like DH and me - just wear your suit into the spa and throw the robe on over it (we always went after spending some time at the pool ).

The main room has four tile heated loungers, a fountain, and a heated tile bench along one wall. The loungers are pure heaven! There is also a steam room, sauna, and a gentle (or dry) sauna. We did not care for the steam room or regular sauna, but the gentle sauna was fabulous! It's a separate, small tiled room with heated benches and heated footrests - and of course the room is very warm (deliciously warm, but I'm always cold). There is also a small fountain with a hose that you can use to cool yourself with.

I know there are some showers in the rainforest room, but we didn't use those. All I know is that I wish I had a rainforest room, especially the gentle sauna, in my home. :earboy2:

We did the spa taster as part of our REAS package and the massage part was very nice - we've had couples massages before, on land, and those were definitely better than the ones on the ship. Personally, we enjoyed the Rasul treatment more than the spa taster. If you're going to chose one over the other, I'd vote for the Rasul. It's more affordable and the two of you get a treatment suite to yourselves with no attendant for an entire hour.

Just my two cents!

Thanks everyone, just what I wanted to know. This sounds like the vacation I'm dreaming of, relaxation while the kids play all day! No bingo for me! :cool1:

I saw at Barb's website, (Thanks :D ) that there is a pepermint shower. I have a fool question. Is it the water they make smell like pepermint? Do you smell like pepermint when you are done? Any other scented showere in the rainforest room?

And it seems like I don't need to rush to buy this pass, because it's a go whenever you want, Right?

You can go to the Rainforest anytime it's open, from morning until 10 p.m., I think. My husband and I each booked a seaweed wrap/massage. Another day, we bought the $15 one-day pass to the Rainforest, and went twice that day. It was divine! Next time, I'll skip the massage and buy the one-week pass. I liked that I didn't have to adhere to a schedule, but could just go whenever I wanted (and when my children were otherwise occupied). The scented waters and steam leave you with just a mild fragrance that dissipates, nothing heavy. You can take a book and read in the sauna or on the heated loungers, too.

There's also a separate sauna in the women's changing area. Keys to small lockers are provided at the front desk's reception area. My only complaint is that the shower knobs in the Rainforest aren't clearly labeled, so sometimes I'd push a button expecting the side-shower spigots to turn on, and instead would get rained or "fogged" on from above, and vice-versa!

There are two other scents besides peppermint. I think they are Rain and some kind of flowery scent. I always finish up in the flowery one because you can definitely smell it on my swimsuit even after it dries.

Ohhhh, so the shower isn't private, so people are keeping their swimsuit on  . It sure is a good thing for these boards, so I dont wind up embarrassing myself and shocking other people :earseek: !!

Seriously though, thanks for all the info you provide. I look foward to trying this out if my girls like the club and want to stay for a bit.
