Tell me about Port Orleans

I was doing a search for 5 people and it gave me as an option. Is there enough room for 5 people? Or is it a suite type thing? How do you likethe resort. Will it be too cramped?

We came back last Sunday from POR and the resort is awesome!! We stayed in the Mansions and the rooms for 5 are in Alligator Bayou so I really can't tell you about the room in them. I can tell you the resort was way better than we expected and there are a lot of activities at the resort.

There were 5 of us in there. Husband and I (in 30's) Brother in law--25 and my two girls 4 and 6 at the time. We kept everything put away and uncluttered as much as possible and were in there very little but we were fine and would do it again. As long as we all have somewhere soft to sleep--it doesn't take much to make us happy. A lot of people talk about how cramped it is but as long as you can get to a bed it's fine with me. We thought it was sufficient room I mean, you can't play ring around the rosie or anything (unless you put the table up on a bed--then you could have you a game--haha) and in order for everyone to sit down--people will be sitting on the bed (only 2 chairs in the room and a settee). The bathroom could be an issue I guess--but the girls and I showered at night so in the morning my husband and brother in law took quick showers and we were out the door. HTH! Amanda

We are a family of 5 and stayed there twice. We love it there. The resort is beautiful. Our kids were 15,11, and 3 the first time we went. They actually all wanted to sleep on the little trundle bed. They took turns. We were told the trundle is for children 9 and under. It pulls out from under one of the beds. We weren't in the room much so I can't say we were cramped for space.

what are the ages of people in your party?

I went with my cousins 22,23 and myself 30

and two girls 10 and 7. There was plenty of room for us...the 5th bed is a trundle for a smaller person...I think I could sleep on it though...it is not TINY but not as large as a twin bed.

The resort itself is great! I liked it even better than Beach Club believe it or not! The rooms in Alligator Bayou are really cute. I did not think I would like the cabin theme, but the rooms are not as dark as they seem in the pictures...and they have been redone....they are not the same as the ones they show on allears.net

My daughters liked the pool and the ride to DTD...they also liked swimming at POFQ pool....we rode the boat over there one night to check it out.

The food court was under construction when we were there in March so I cannot speak about that.

We were in BLDG 14 and that is what I have requested for our AUG trip...I would also ask for a ground floor room if steps are a problem for u.

I loved POR. I would rate it 2nd favorite for me...Poly is my LOVE!! But for the MONEY....POR for 5 is a great deal...

I forgot to say

I thought bathrooms were well layed out...BETTER than the Poly or BC. They have shower curtains you can drag across the sink and closet area to make a "dressing" room...of course there is only one toilet and shower, but you get that even in a deluxe standard room....

I also liked the shelving and storage there in the bathroom dressing area...

Thanks, you answered my question. It would be a 19 year oldguy that would sleep on the "trundle" bed, so it wouldn't work. I have two DD's and the ywould sleep together, and then he would need a spot.
I did the numbers and two rooms at pop is about the same price give or take a few bucks, and then there would be two bathrooms too.
I would like to try it out someday though.
I don't even know if we will make a trip this year, but I am always planning one just in case DH agrees! LOL!
