We have used this numerous times at WDW and are thinking of preordering the CD for our upcoming trip to DL. Are the photogs plentiful at DL and where are some of the must have pics places at DL?

Thanks

I've never been to WDW, but the impression I get is that photopass people are in way more locations at WDW than DLR. Again, just an impression. I have ordered a picture from PP before. However, I usually don't because I bring a camera with me.

Also, you don't have an advantage to preordering your DLR CD like you do at WDW. It is the same price whether you order in advance or after. So, take advantage of the photogs and then decide once you are home if you want to buy the CD.

We were there last week and saw several photographers; quite a few on Wednesday. We ended up with about 30 pictures on the CD that we purchased (taken over 4 days).

We spent 6 days in DL/DCA Thanksgiving week in 2009. We hardly saw photopass photographers. If it wasn't for the holiday locations and Thanksgiving dinner at DL Hotel, we would have only had a handful of pictures on our cards. At the end of the trip, we only bought on picture. WDW has way more photopass photographers. The quality of the pictures were not anything special. I certainly would plan on bringing my own camera. I certainly would not prepay anything. I would want to see how many and the quality of the pics before I bought.

Remember, the photopass photograph will take a picture with your camera as well.

I don't think there are that many photographers in DLR/DCA. Most of them are where the character meet and greets are (i.e. Princess Fantasy Faire, Pooh's Corner, Pixie Hollow, Toontown, Hollywood Backlots, Sunshine Plaza). I randomly see one or two in front of the castle and in Town Square near City Hall (usually when there are characters out as well). I noticed more photographers during the holidays when everything was decorated though.

I've used photopass on my last two trips, one to DLR one to WDW. Comparativley there aren't many locations in DLR. Also the trips tend to be half as long.

That said while I was in WDW there were very few photographers available than the PP site shows on their maps. I chalked this up to it being a slow period for the parks.

That said, to get a bulk of pictures needed to fill the book or CD the items which use the most pics and cost the most wasn't easy. Without duplicate shots, same photographer same spot, same time, I got about 25 in DLR and 80 in WDW. So about 1:3 and I was really trying hard to get a lot in WDW. The price for the CD is 60:150, DLR:WDW full price of course. But the book is the same.

IMO I would get a cd in DL and only questionably use it in WDW. The only benefit I saw was that I could easily pictures of my son and I, while my photos are all of my son.

I also should note that if you get the CD you can put the pics on your computer and upload them to several sites to make the picture products for cheaper. They just wont have the disney patterns on the backings.
