Tell me about OKW with no car....

I agree that the bus situation at OKW or any of the resorts is workable. A lot of it is about expectations, planning and patience. Having said that, when we stayed at OKW in June, the bus service seemed a lot slower/irregular than it had been last August. I tried to attribute that to the higher crowd levels we witnessed. We also stayed at BCV in June and the service going TO the parks was fine. Coming BACK was, at times, a different story. But that's a different complaint. We go to WDW and intentionally do not rent a car for a couple of reasons. Mainly, I think using the Disney transportaion adds something to the experience. It also gives us a differnent level of interaction with some of the other visitors. But also, I really find it less stressful if I don't drive. So we build the transit time into our planning and try to remember we're on vacation. I guess the worst case at OKW is staying in the Millers Road area if you want to get back to the room quickly because it's the last stop before HH.

We like to stay at South Point, because it is the second stop in and third to the last stop out, so our time on the bus in the complex is very minimal.

I totally agree with you Dianeschlicht this seems to be the best area at OKW for transportation within the resort.

Thanks for the replies. I've always pictured bus service at OKW to be like that at CBR - and I've never had an issue there. My concern was some reports that service was "less frequent" than at the resorts with regular hotels attached - but that doesn't sound like its the case.

We are playing around with a "family reunion" in 2007. My parents, my two sisters and their spouses (one set childless, one should have a three year old by then), and our family of four. Two two bedrooms - one for the families with kids, one for people who want to stay up late chatting. Home is BWVs, but the larger rooms and lower points at OKW are really attractive for this sort of thing - and the guys all golf. However, the childless couple loves to party - so I had been thinking that BWVs would provide more nightlife - but duh! OKW has great access to PI - doesn't it? That leave BW with the plus of walking to Epcot (something I'd hate to give up) and all the restuarants and stuff within walking distance.

Tough choices, huh?
