Tell me about OKW - what buildings to request?

We are travelling with 2 seniors (one of which is somewhat disabled) and 2 children. Any ideas on what room/buildings we should request? Also, what buildings have great views?
What buildings rooms should I stay away from? I would love to know any feedback you have on OKW - thanks!

Its a beautiful spacious resort. I would just suggest you request being close to the hospitality house. This will help get a seat on the bus and keep you close to all the hotels amenities. We like 55 & 56. These buildings are in a quiet location, hardly any traffic, close to a bus stop, and immediately next to a quiet pool.

The DVC owner that I rented from suggested building 62 when I requested things be convenient and close. It was wonderful. I had heard that the only "bad" thing about OKW is having to use the stairs. I don't know if it's because it one of the newer buildings or they all have them, but since I have bad knees, I was very happy that it had an elevator in this building. We were right across the street from the main pool, bus stop, store, laundromat, Olivia's Restaurant (which is delicious), and a little snack shop. It was wonderful and VERY close. We asked for a "lake view" on the second or third floor and it was gorgeous. We really didn't hear any road traffic. Very nice. Check out the resort map on the other post it's the building with the line pointing to it and it's labeled "Commadore House", don't know why it's called that. It was Building 62 last July when we stayed there. I'd check it out, it would really fit your needs.

Don't know the building numbers, but I would definitely request one with an elevator. My mom is in the semi-handicapped catagory also, and I don't know how she would have managed the stairs. Also, once you get there if you feel the need for a wheelchair, you can ask at the front desk if one is available. They are free with a credit card deposit, and you can use it anywhere in WDW. It was most helpful in getting my mom to and from the pool when she "thought she could make the short walk", but in reality couldn't. She now has her own, which we never travel without. But the resort will bend over backward for you to get one if necessary. Don't be afraid to ask!!

There are only 3 buildings with elevators and they are very highly requested, so I would suggest you ask for 1st floor or building with elevator. Because a lot of people prefer the higher floors, getting first floor is not that hard, but you should mention that you need it for medical reasons.
All the buildings have either water or golf course views (the buildings and parking lots are situated in a way that the windows are not facing the parking lot).

This would be my suggestion also. Be aware that the first floor rooms COULD be under a Grand villa, and we find those to be a bit noisy because of the hardwood floors above you in the GV. List your requests in the order of improtance. ie., Smoking or non, near a pool or bus stop, floor preference for mobility reasons. Being near HH is not necessary to be close to those services. Most units are steps away from a bus stop, and all buses (no matter where they are going) will stop at HH before leaving the resort. Even those units within walking distance of HH are probably going to be farther than walking to a bus stop anywhere else on the property.
