We're taking our first trip to OKW in May. I'd like to hear about the Turtle Pond Pool area and what we'll find there. Pictures would be great too! Thanks!

It is a smaller pool and pretty quiet. No slide or anything fancy, but the location is great. We stayed right there twice. First time kids were little and I don't remember using the pool but the location of our room was super. Stayed in that area again a couple years ago and loved it. Kids were probably 8-13 and we could send them down to the pool and follow shortly. The turtle shack was right there for snacks. I would stay there again. We never ask for a certain room, we take what we get.

Love that area. Stayed there the last 2 xmas weeks. Great bus stop location and also a nice walk to HH. Pool area here is very nice with a small playground also. It is nice just to sit and relax even if you are not swimming. We have stayed in all areas of OKW and like this area and Miller's road the best. Have fun.

We stayed in bldg 36 last July and loved the location. Traveling with older kids now, they enjoy the quiet pools over the main pool. We had a second floor villa overlooking a pond and the golf course. The course was closed last summer for rehab, so it was very quiet. We have been members since 1993 and have not had a location that I have been disappointed with yet. :thumbsup2

We just loved not being right by the HH. Turle pond has a very nice playground for the wee ones, snack shack, restrooms and a pool that is not crowded. The bus system is wonderful. You can't go wrong with Turtle pond.

Our wee one just loves to say "turle pond":flower3:

Thanks for all the responses! We're anxiously awaiting our trip. Since we're staying in a studio, I'm hoping that there's a laundry near the pool. Does anyone know for sure?

There are laundry rooms at all the pool areas at OKW - not to worry!

We have always stayed in a room by Turtle Pond Pool. We love the location and when the kids where little we spent more time at the pool in the evening using the grills there. It was great to have the playground there and the kids would play shuffleboard. Now my kids are older we have stayed at BCV since most of our time is spent in the parks, not at pool.

Hi, we just got back from turtle pond. TP Pool was cold, and hot tub was out.

I complained to lifeguard at the main pool (much warmer) and was told, "Oh, the heater was been going in / out at turtle pond". And hot tub at TP was Out of service.

I am disappointed that the small pools aren't kept up to speed as the main "theme" pools.... We were still able to swim, but just not as nice as it could have been. Not the end of the world but you have to rid the bus, and they are airconditioned, so kinda cold on the ride home back to TP (have to go all the way around the resort before coming to TP).

ALso, since it was spring break, and maybe because of the overflow at TP, there were several fights over chairs at the main pool.
