How is the food and service? And what type of foods do they have? I just made a ADR for Sept by luck-- but i know its family style service and has -- but is there entertainment? Tell me all you know:) thanks so much:)

When we were there in September there was a guy walking around with his yukalele (sp?) singing and they had the limbo and coconut races for the kids :goodvibes. It was a fun evening and the food was awesome :). We were seated right by the window and the view was just gorgeous. We had great service as well :thumbsup2.

'Ohana (apostrophe at the beginning, no S on the end) is my favorite table-service meal at WDW.

The food is great, the atmosphere is relaxed and easy-going, and there is some nice entertainment each night (hula-hoop contests and coconut races and some relaxing live music).

'Ohana is all about mass quantities, so if you are not a huge eater, be sure to tell your server to bring smaller quantities is you don't want to waste a lot of food.

Food at 'Ohana comes in waves; you may get two courses within seconds of each other. This does not mean that the server is trying to rush you, it's simply the way they bring out the food.

When I go to 'Ohana with a group, it usually takes 90-120 minutes to complete our meal. Take your time - there is a lot of food, and it's all worth trying.

And whatever you do, be sure to save at least a little room for dessert, which is bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and bananas foster sauce. It is the single greatest sweet treat at WDW.

You are going to LOVE 'Ohana. It is one of our family's favorite places hands down. First, they bring you the most wonderful pineapple bread (we are especially excited about this because it has just been added back to the menu after a couple of years:thumbsup2 ) Then they bring wonderful wings, shrimp, and salad with special dipping sauces. The main course and the dessert are excellent as well. The atmosphere is really fun too!

Ohana is my favorite restaurant in all of Disney!!!!

I love the atmosphere, the food and the entertainment. They have coconut races, do the limbo, a parade, hula lessons, etc. Food consists of Welcome Bread (pineapple bread), Salad, sticky chicken wings, pork dumplings, grilled turkey, pork, steak and shrimp, lo mein-type noodles, broccoli and snow peas, and the most amazing Bread Pudding A La Mode with Bananas Foster Sauce!!! Ohana is also home to my favorite character breakfast too!

Yikes!!! Our ADR is not until 9:45 pm!!! how will this work? will it still take 90-120 mins?:confused3

Probably not, unless you have a really large party.

When dining solo, I typically take about 45 minutes at 'Ohana. With a group, I don't think I've ever gotten out in less than 75 minutes, but when I'm with a group, it's usually 8 or more. For a typical group of 4, you can probably get done in about 60-75 minutes.

We ate there last week. We didn't have ADR's and checked to see if they had any openings ( please don't flame me) because it smelled so good when we walked by. The food was SO good, it's going to be one of our must do meals from this point forward. And the dessert is the best any of us have ever had. My oldest DS is picky and swore up and down he hated pineapple (which the bread pudding had in it), he couldn't get enough. The salad was also a big hit with my family along with the bread, oh and the shrimp, oh and the turkey....you get the picture I'm sure.

There was entertainment, I forget her name but I'm sure someone here knows, she is the regular person that's there.

Our family hasn't had a trip yet to Disney without eating at 'Ohana. As mentioned in the previous posts the food is amazing. (If you're into that sort of thing!) Keep in mind though that as much as all of us are praising 'Ohana that there are several others who feel the exact opposite. Please call ahead though for ressies. We usually plan way in advance but are planning on visiting in about 75 days. I made ressies about two weeks ago and the earliest we could get a reservation for was at 7:50 PM.

We too give O'hana a big thumbs up:thumbsup2 and eat here everytime we are at WDW. I swear my husband dreams about the Bread Pudding. I once heard him mumble something about O'hana & saw him lick his fingers in his sleep . The bread pudding is his fave. Congrats & enjoy!

Ohana's is amazing!!! We loved the service and the food was very good!!! You will love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will say that 'Ohana is not our favorite...we have never been seated in the big open room, but in a smallish section off to the side which seems dark and depressing. We had huge hopes our first time of visiting since we had heard such great reviews, but we were disappointed...after a year or two, we thought let's try it again! We really enjoy the Poly...the lounge is wonderful...it all just kind of disintegrated for us again once we were seated in that not-so-great area. We had a crabby waitress, DS (and us) felt very far removed from any happenings in the big open room. I found most of the meat tough and very grizzly (I was trying to find a graceful way to spit it out) and was disappointed overall.

Just an honest opinion...not trying to burst any bubbles, but again as a PP has mentioned, many love it, others just aren't feeling the love!

Good luck and have a great trip!

This is our first time trying 'Ohana for dinner we did the breakfast last year and loved it.....*crossing fingers* ;)

Ohana's at dinner is hands down our favorite Disney restaurant!

There were hula lessons, coconut races and a hawaiian singer.

The food was wonderful and my teen sons are still talking about it 1 year later. My favorite was the chicken wing appetizer...YUMMMMMM!!!

We are going back in 24 days! :cool1:

My 17yo son and I are returning after 4 years - out of all the restaurants we went to, 'Ohanas was the best. DO NOT EAT A LARGE LUNCH! I have pix of my then 13yo son dancing with the younger children (girls) and the singer while hoola-hooping...Good food for the $. We had pinapple dipped in caramel sauce for dessert. I cannot begin to tell you how good that was. Makes me salivate just thinking about it.

25 days to go...

LOVE this restaurant, a MUST go for us. Great food, fun atmosphere, beautiful location, my PICKY son tried NEW things, WOOHOO what a surprise THAT was. Headed back on our next trip and thinking GOOD thoughts about it!
ENJOY and have a great trip!

Let me start my post here with: I very much dislike bread pudding! it is mushy and not a very pleasant texture @ all to me.

Now the last time we went to WDW (2006) my wife wanted to visit the Polynesian and wanted an excuse to do so. So she wanted to eat @ 'Ohana. We knew nothing about it before hand. And it was our 1st trip to eat @ nice sit down restaurants due to the dining plan. We called and called no openings. So when we went ahead and went to the Polynesian my wife walked up and asked if they had openings. They said if you are still here in an hour we will seat you. (It was something like almost 4 That would have made it right when they open for dinner) None of us ate too much for lunch and were really contemplating on getting some snacks because we had not ate much before 9pm the whole trip so we were snacking around 4 anyway.

So we go there and got seated in the "side" area. Apparently it is the drab area from an earlier post?? It was great because I could look out onto the lake away from all the hustle of the main room.

The food??? Well let me say it was pretty good. It was good. Ok maybe I am down playing it a little. If we had one locally I would want to go there around 4 times a year, Or whenever I could. :) My wife loved it. This was exactly what she was wanting from a dining experience. The kids thought it was great. Didn't eat a lot but loved to do all the extra things. Which made me happy because I could eat the shrimp, pork, turkey, sirloin, oh and the bread pudding. :( But let me finish by saying I had them bring out an extra bread pudding because bread pudding is one of my wife's favorite deserts, and they brought it then had a coconut race shortly after so she had 2 bites then went up with the kids and by the time she got back to the table I had it pretty much gone. pirate:
Yeah still not a big fan of bread pudding, but we have our ressies there for our trip in 50+ days and made them back in April. It is 1 of 2 restaurants that we are returning to this trip. The other is Cinderella's royal table.

Mmmm! Sounds like dinner is a hit! Can anyone tell me more about the breakfast, too?

We went to Ohana for the first time (dinner) at the end of March. We did wait 45 minutes past our ADR time but oh man was it worth it. We were not rushed at all, if fact our server encouraged us to take our time and enjoy. The food was awesome, the music and kid interaction was a lot of fun.

We are trying breakfast in three weeks!
